May be my misunderstanding or the clubs communications, but they've cried wolf too many times for my liking.

 

anyway Rhodes seems to be doing a bit more than cyber criticism.

As always, you unique contribution is appreciated, TSF. I applaud Rhodes for taking an active part in the plan to ressurrect football under the Edgware name. There is no need, however, for him to continue to vilify the poor sods who had to throw in the towel.

Horace, i dont think there's any need for Rhodes to keep criticising the old regime either, but he has his methods, and I doubt anyone's protests will stop him, unless and until he is an official of an official Edgware FC.

 

Til then its an open forum, and it all adds a bit of spice and interest to a close season.

Well said Horace. As one of the few people with real experience of running a non-league club, who post on this forum, your comments carry a lot of weight with people who matter.

 

As always Rhodes shows his ignorance of the reasons for Edgware Town taking a sabbatical and wants to get the distorted views of numpty Shaw. As numpty was not on the board or the committee of the club and was only a spectator for a couple of seasons (and part of that time banned from the Club) what could he possibly know about the true situation of decisions taken by the club and the board of Directors?

 

Did he know what plans were put in place for the future? Did he know the situation with the landlord and the lease of the ground? Did he know what work was done behind the scenes to try to keep the club at the White Lion for at least another season at the start of last season and again at the beginning of this.

 

The answer to those questions can only be an emphatic NO. This is the man who rubbished the Club on public forums and then suddenly put himself up as savoir. What a true 24 carat plonker.

Well said 'Spursfan' those in charge thought nothing of leving Harrow Boro in the lurch after they had stepped in with an offer of a groundshare which allowed Edgware to compete in the RLD1N last season..they then threw this back in the faces of Harrow Boro when 'Barretts' pulled out of the deal to buy the WLG land.

Those in charge were thinking with their wallets as to how much money they could make in bar takings rather than the long term future at Earlsmead where the club could have still be for the coming season.

The moment they sold their soul to the Galliard homes in return for funding the writing is on the wall, who in thier right mind lets a major property developemnt company fund football club who's ground is on a prime piece of real estate????????


It's interesting to note that Ken Batten the chairman of the club told me in private during a pre season friendly last season that he thought the club had made a mistkae by going back on the Earlsmead groundshare and that in some aspects he wished that the 06/07 treble wining season in the SSML had been their last!!

Re 'Bilbo' yet again more bile from this subhuman species who has the balls to sprout bollox on internet forums but in real life hides behind a stupid screename and has not got what it takes to come forward and be a man ane stand up and be counted...your judgement day WILL come ..whoever you are ..TRUST ME on that !!!

LOL good one 'spursfan' press release...juding by 'bilbo's past form...I take it you read the post on my blog that I gave a link to where he said that the club were in talks with a millionaire local buisnessman and ready to play at PEPF before the end of last season...I would not hold my breath for any such press release.

The fool thinks I live in cloud cuckoo land when in reality I AM doing something postive to bring the club back whereas he is sittin on his ample ass trying to disrupt any progress we make..

From Gaillard...I think you will find that 30 quid a game is not anyting special in the SSML Prem..specailly for a club that walked the treble in 06/07 I have no doubts that several other clubs were payng more than that...yet did not sell themselves to the devil ie a property company.....

 

Clubs survive on sponsorship and advertising..the fact Edgware's programme had just one page and no ground hoardings speaks volumes about those in charge lack of foresight to arrange funds into the club other than that of Galliard Homes...

Bilbo - You have stooped to new lows with this post if that's possible, why not just let Gavin, Uncle Urchin and myself get on with the job in hand, namely resurrescting a new Edgware from the ashes of the old Edgware Town, haven't you heard the saying that every dog has its day and you and the old regime have had yours, now let someone else give it a go.

As for this Edgware Middlesex nonsense this is clearly all pie in the sky unless you can prove otherwise, there has been no mention of location for example and it is far too short notice to get a team up and running for the Middlesex County League Premier Division for an early September start.

Bilbo - I think it was quote of the month for January, or it may have been February, that won with 'If Gavin was Fred West he would still be more than welcome at Kentish Town' and that principle still applies. At the end of the day he gets the job done, unlike others who sit on their backsides, and he will die for the cause, again unlike some who tamely throw in the towel when the going gets tough.

I have nothing against you personally, just leave the guy alone.
