Well said Uncs, nothing is confirmed yet, but a big thank you to Rhodesey and Gav for their efforts in the revival of Edgware. I'm sure it couldn't have been achieved without their help. Look forward to seeing you all at the games if and when this all happens. Thanks again, Harry.

What a stupid name - Edgware Town (Middlesex)!!! If this is true, surely the folks behind it can come up with a better name than that. Its not as if there's another settlement with the same name(anywhere in the world unless I'm very mistaken), which is Ashford's excuse.

hi harry....certainly does look positive from your end and one has to ask why the club was allowed to close in the first place if it was so easy to sort it all out 4 months later...?

anyway no matter...they are questions perhaps for another time....the issue at the present is to ensure that the club is back up and running and we shall be making a concerted effort to do just that this coming week....

way I see it is this....you guys get that club back up and running pronto or else hand it over to those that can.....

waddayafink harry....?

well lets hope its true steve and then our work is done..the old ET club is back up and running again which was gavin and rhodes objective in the first place...if it does happen we can certainly say well done to the two boys for making it all public and putting pressure on the present incumbents who closed it down....if its all pie in the sky then the boys are ready to rock and roll with 2009...

either way an old club gets saved.....we should all be delighted about that...applause

Indeed Uncle, and as I have already stated I would be overjoyed if Edgware were 'saved' and would in no shape or form be upset that we would not be part of the new setup.

This IS about football NOT personalities....so as long as 'Edgware' get back to playing football then all is well in my book.

It would however be interesting IF the oringinal club were to resurface in the Middlesex League Prem Division which I think I am right in saying is step 7 of the NL Pyrimid....rather then what we are currently workin on is to establish the club at step 5 or 6, 5 being the pefered option which would see Edgware back at the same level they were at just two seasons ago when they were in the SSML Prem.

I was indeed looking at the debuting in either the Middx Senior League/SSML (step 6 or 7) or Herts County League (step 7) before Uncle Urchin came on board with his offer...

I see nothing wrong in starting in any of these leagues or even the Essex Senior League (whats good enough for Enfield is good enough for Edgware)...

Remember should the club enter at step 7 and have a % of the 80 regulars from the past two seasons then they would be a well supported club at that level and with the name 'Edgware' could attract some good players even though the club would not be located in 'Edgware' a couple of promotion seasons like Rhodes mentioned with regard to Sporting and the support would hopefully go up as no matter what league people are attracted to a winning club.

I just wait to see if our project gets off the ground our this supposed re kindle of the oringal Edgware.....can you imagine...TWO Edgware's.....with our's at at higher level .....that WOULD be interesting....though in reality ...ONE team playing under Edgware would suffice no matter what league they were in.

Gavin - You're right but presumably the new Club won't be getting Unc's financial help if they re-enter football at Step 7 level, besides I would have thought it would be a lot better to sit out next season and then re-enter at Step 6 as is planned rather than have to do everything in a huge rush purely to go into the Middlesex County League which is just a money making operation as Kentish Town found to their cost two seasons ago.

Hi Uncs, yeah, thanks to you all on this forum for your efforts to save Edgware. As you know I took a bit of a turn a couple of weeks ago and said some things that maybe, in hindsight, were not really appropriate, I think I even called Rhodesey an appalling, needy sack of horse sh*t.

It's not 'set in stone' by any means just yet but with a following wind and the continued support of those on this forum I think we'll be just fine.

Rhodesey has been an absolute brick during Edgware's time of need and I'm positive, despite the comments below, we can all look forward to a harmonious union.

"Sadly these are the sort of people that Gavin warned us about and you can now begin to paint a picture can't you and see why the Club sadly went to the wall like it did"

"Unc is keen for us not to air the old regimes dirty linen in public, and lets face it there is plenty of that"

Hopefully. despite the previous problems we can all get along now.

IF and its a BIG 'IF' there is another offer on the 'table' and its from a club calling themselves 'Edgware 'Middlesex' FC...then obvioulsy that is NOT the oringinal club being brought back to life..and would be a reason why they are looking at starting in the Middlesex Prem league which as I stated is step 7.

As we have disscued before on this thread any new club with a new name would have to start at step 7 step 6 at the very highest.

Would make sense to start them in the Middx as the travelling is nominal compared to the SSML div 2..though I dont know the quality of the football but would be prepared to guess that the SSML would offer a higher standard, and it would also offer the cups that give teams from div 1 & 2 a chance to take a prem scalp in the SSML Challenge cup.

Who would have thought that little more than three weeks ago I stated my intention both on this forum and my blog to get Edgware Town in whichever guise back up and running..if this has set alarm bells running for those who were part of the 'old guard' at the club and shook them up to do something to putting right a wrong then GREAT.....

I just wonder will I be banned from any new Edgware that I am not involved with? after all my ban was from the White Lion Ground Edgware...and though those in charge would have liked to see me given a blanket ban at every club Edgware played at this was impossible.

I also wonder......would steve newing and Del Deanus and the WHOLE Edgware Town squad that have decamped to Leyton FC for the 08/09 season, suddenly jump back ship to Edgware (NOT the Edgware Rhodes and I am working on) should the club be reformed in time for next season?????

Could someone be so kind to as type out the article in todays NLT for me?

I take it that the NLP has not carried any story re Edgware? I have as yet not been contacted further by either paper other then an email that said 'contact me' when I first put my blog story about my intentions appeared.

Harry Up - I apologise if these hard hitting comments rankled however I stand by every word, at the end of the day the old regime were largely responsible for allowing a Football Club with 69 years of history to die a death and there is no getting away from that.
Anyway thanks very much for your positive comments, as you say there is no reason why we shouldn't be able to get along and work together.

I've tried desperately to keep my nose out of this Rhodes, but I'm spitting feathers reading what you keep writing. The "old regime" as you call them rescued the club from what amounted to a criminal act, and in fact kept it afloat for several years longer than it might have lived. That they were unable to continue to bankrupt themselves for the common good is not for you to criticise from your computer keyboard!
