GETTING NERVOUS....

Recommended Posts

Jack will be an important signing for us - he is one of those unsung heros who just gets on with the job, and does it very well. This may prove to be his last season at this level, but his versatlity will be invaluable as it means LD does not require special cover at left or right back, and he will offer reliable support for Smudger, Gary Mac and Macca.

Even though I sound alarmist the 'rumour' re Liam potentially going came from an ex player now in management and was assured that it was almost a done deal. That said I agree that rumours are always employed to either unsettle or just to fill a gap in any obvious progress or action. This one has/had me nervous thats all particularly as L.D. is proving to be a very good manager and would be an assett to most other clubs around the league.By the way, bloody brilliant about Charles and espescially Stoney. What a coupe.........the will make a great difference to the balance. Stoney is avery good player, Gills loss and our gain.

Really think the outcome depends on what Liam *really* thinks about MYFC. The interesting paragraph from the BBC article for me was:

"The U's chairman has identified experience as a key quality he will be looking for in a new manager, and said: "It needs to be somebody who buys in to the whole Cambridge ethos which is going to be looking to exploit the great wealth of young talent we've got at the football club. "

If his applied, I reckon he would get the job if you look at the facts:

1) Experience from winning the FA Trophy on a small budget.

2) An ex-player knows the Club inside out.

3) His track record with younger players speaks for itself.

4) He could probably pursuade some of our younger players to join him there, even if they are contracted and require a fee.

Better hope his not applied . . .
