FORMER BORO MAN SIGNS FOR THE KNAPPERS

The Club are pleased to announce the signing of Ian Savage as player coach.

 

Ian has had a distinguished and successful career at non league level as player and coach, and will bring a wealth of experience to the Club. Ian has turned down a number of offers from other local clubs including the opportunity to remain with recently promoted Farnborough Football Club in a coaching capacity where he was part of a successful managerial duo with Andy Clement, one time Woking F.C player.

 

He has seen a successful playing career at Southampton, Farnborough Town, Salisbury City, Hampton & Richmond Borough, Boreham Wood and Dulwich Hamlet. A broken leg at 27 saw Ian move into coaching becoming assistant manager at Walton & Hersham before going on to manage Hartley Wintney. Ian then won the Combined Counties Premier Division title with Godalming Town in a playing/coaching role.

 

Ian also managed local rivals Bisley in 2006/7 season and contributed to their success in winning the Hellenic League-Eastern Division before moving onto Farnborough.
