found this little gem from way back now lost in the sands of time on the MyFc forums...(author unknown) the interesting part is the revelation that Mr Levine was a founder member of the Provident Society for MyFc and at the same time was a board member of EUFC...?

how very strange..

I've been doing a lot of reading today. I felt kind of obliged to - after all, I was criticised in the comments section on here last night for not having done any research into the proposed take-over of Ebbsfleet United by My Football Club. To be honest with you, I'm not encouraged by the reading that I have done - in fact, what I might have described as my "mild concerns" over the long term well-being of this club have now escalated to what I can only describe as "alarm". From what I can gather, the devil is in the detail, and the detail is, so far as I can see, something that should probably be made public. Obviously, for legal reasons I need to be careful with what I say here, so you may have to read between the lines if you're looking for my opinion on what I've found, but there are certainly questions raised by the detail in these documents which the people running this little charabanc should answer, and should answer quickly.

I was fortunate enough to find myself in possession of copies the following documents (all of which are, with a little digging, freely available):

- The application for the registration of My Football Club Society to the FSA as an Industrial & Provident Society.

- The "Operating Agreement" between My Football Club Limited and My Football Club Society Limited.

- The Rules Of My Football Club Society Limited.

- The "Conditions Of Payment" for My Football Club - to put it another way, small print of what you get for your money once you hand over your

Many thanks for unearthing this UU. The unidentified author of the piece has performed some sterling work. Many moons ago I asked for details of the secretary of the MyFC Society Board once appointed so that I could make contact. I never did receive a name. It now transpires that the "conscience" of the Society members is the Operating website company. Supporters' Trusts as Industrial Provident Societies legally have to appoint a Secretary. There are various ways in which such a person may be appointed, but I have never come across such an arrangement as explained here. The situation requires further consideration, but I can well understand the reservations of the author regarding this specific arrangement.

of course one does wonder what the answers were....for example why was mr levine a director of ebbs at the time he was a founding member of the provident trust given that at that date ebbs were not even on the horizon...

conspiracy theorists could run riot with that...I of course couldn't comment....grin

excellent response wanchai...very original.....well done...!

now having got yourself involved in this thread (which could well be your nemesis) and acting under instructions from moonie high command...will you please answer the question regarding mr levene (as above)

you see I am curious as to how a director of ebbsfleet became a founder member of MyFc provident many moons before ebbsfleet was even on the MyFc radar (allegedly)....and then remained a director of ebbsfleet when his new provident society took over his club....without disclosure of conflict of interest...

I can feel a story coming on...a long one....

but lets have your answer first please wanchai....you know so much... surely you can answer that little ol' question...smile

The sequence of events isn't correct UU. Joshua Levine was not a director of EUFC before the takeover was mooted. He was appointed (according to the list in the programmes) sole new interim director only when the existing directors stood down (except Brian who stayed on as the interim chairman). Presumably, as one of the figures around at the time MyFC was established, JL was requested to become a director and he agreed to do so on a nominal basis (in the sense that he hasn't knowingly put any money into the club, doesn't own additional shares and doesn't attend games to the best of a reasonable on-lookers knowledge).

I am still wondering if a limited company can be an IPS Secretary though?
