excellent work...applause

You know it won't be 100% UU, it never is but however many honour their pledges it is all money that we wouldn't have had. Well done to Keith for keeping everyone informed and massive pat on the back for Tom Baker who instigated it and has pushed it through on the MyFC site.

Hempstead Gaz (a much more intelligent bloke than that nonce Chatham Gaz, whatever happened to him? doah) is quite correct that extra numbers on the gate will realise more money for the club than this pledge can but I can't see any reason that we shouldn't try for both.
I believe our new CEO will be targeting improving gates and cashing in on the Wembley feel good factor and obviously we should all back him 100% in that.

The simplest way to improve gates is and always has been for each of us to bring a friend, the Trophy win might make a few friends more amenable to persuasion.

HG, I agree with you 100 %.

Appeals are no way to run a football club, but they can be a useful thing to have now and again to give things a little boost.

I know people think that success would be to get in the league, but I have seen many opinions from people on here that are very different to that. One said to finish 8th next year would be good, and I can see where that comes from, the fighting above our weight argument. Another said to not get relegated would be the aim, and if you look at the figures UU propuced, then based on numbers we should be in the lower areas of the table.

Attendances are the key here, but we all know that. I dont recall the final average attendance of last season, but if we set a rough target of an average of 1,500 in 2008-09, I think most would agree that progress would have been made.

I know people have been rightly suspicious of MYFC, but whatever happens over the next few years, there is a group of newcomers who I am affraid to say, you are stuck with for aslong into the future as you can see :-) Did you know that some have signed up for 6 or 7 years .

Anyway, its been a good few weeks getting to the 1,000 figure, but that figure isnt money. I want to be able to come on here and say that

Our average attendance was 1087, the average for the whole league was approx 1800. We have a lot of work to do, and even a rise to 1500 would put us significantly below average.

That is the reality of the situation and the size of the task ahead is immense.

Perhaps the club could offer discounted mini 5/11 match season tickets on production of a Wembley ticket stub?

I do not know the figures, but there must be a sizeable number of MYFC members who went to Wembley, and live in Kent, but are not Fleet regulars.

It is these folks we need to tap into. They already have a vested interest financially, and have seen that Fleet as an entertainment product is worthwhile watching on a regular basis.

Hopefully, we willnot get "Aston Villa" syndrome, where 7500 turned up at Villa Park, then 6500 never came back.

CG is soooo yesterday, and Chatham is soooo Chav!
Hempstead is much more upmarket, befitting a supporter of the finest club in Kent.

MyFc sold appox 5,000 tickets very few of which would be to locals, the club on the other hand sold nearer 20,000 tickets almost all of which where to locals.

The 19,000 locals who went to Wembley and aren't regular fans or MyFC members should be the target both for ourselves and for MyFC.
It is also in our interest to get as many locals as possible to become 'owners'.
There is still a lot of interest in the town following the Trophy win, a lot of cars now sport the Fleet sticker given away free in the rag, we need to push the club while that interest is still there.
Has anyone seen the FA Trophy Champions 2008 sign over the turnstiles?

We obviously need to attract those who went to Wembley, but don't normally go.

The only obvious proof of going to the big game is the ticket stub - over to Will, JM and DD to conjure up a way of converting those that went into fans that will be going to see Fleet regularly.

I still think the discount on the mini season ticket is a genuine option, as it will stop the "one game wonders" from turning up, then never being seen again.
