Well done to the 'First XI' 5-0 against Manor, (Berquez (3), Brayley & Boylan the scorers) Hard luck Manor, you put in more of an effort the Enfield and deserved to score at least two goals on the night. Unlucky the Reserves loosing on penalties is a tough business, you put up a good fight of what I saw against two thirds of their first team. Mean It Mick Posted April 30, 2003 Share Posted April 30, 2003 I must admit Canvey was quality last night. The difference in level def showed. Marking Boylan when he come on was a nightmare. The fella is so lively. Not happy with Parmenter though spitting at one of our players late on and Minton just kicking out at one of our players for being mugged off. Plus i swear i saw the ref in the Canvey changing room after getting their autographs. He was up their arses for most of the game! The class and fitness showed through last night I think, although you did battle hard you seemed a step behind 99% of the time. What number was you playing then 'Mick'? I was talking to Flanders, (or was it you?) before the game, had a few 'nice' words to say about Michael Lee. I just laughed, Flanders - Southend Manor, Lee - Canvey Island, I think that statement just proves it all. Probably one of the bigger crowds you've seen all season wasn't it? The Great Eckscape Posted May 1, 2003 Share Posted May 1, 2003 The shot that hit the bar in the second half was quality, and Southend Manor opened us up on more than one occasion. However, it didn't seem as if we ever came out of first gear, or at times just stayed in neutral! I did feel sorry for that lino in the second half though, hopping on one leg trying to keep in line with Boylan!!! He was getting so much stick I bet he couldn't wait for the whistle to blow! Still Michael Lee is at Canvey making first team appearancees which is a lot more than Flanders could say. Even if they were together at Wakering!! ...and by the looks of your name you're a Wa*kering fan? Why are you even concerned about Southend Manor? You've got bigger fish to fry in the Ryman!!
