Player Update

[Margate Football Club]

The Club is pleased to announce that the following players, who have progressed through the Reserve, Under 18 and Academy Teams, have been signed to Margate 1st Team for the coming Season:

 

Elliot Payne - Left Midfielder

Ryan Harker - Right Back

Chris Lewis - Centre Forward

Alex Krunic - Goalkeeper

Paul Axon - Right Winger

Sam Cliff - Centre Forward

Daryn Vanhinsbergh - Left Winger.

 

The Club has also signed Curtis Robinson a Left Back who previously played at Dover Athletic.

Thanks for the updates. Some interesting names there.

 

For those who don't know them, Payne a sweet left foot and a great crosser of the ball. Harker experienced and good in the air. Lewis tremendous pace with non stop running. Krunic has been mentioned before, played in the Hornchurch game. Cliff must be from U18's as I know nothing about him. Axon and Vanhinsberg of course we all know from last season.

thers some good players there but thers some that i dnt think can cut it wont say no names dont want to put them down but up the blues hope the youngstars do it for us

For me seeing the Reserves come through is great after watching and reporting on them last season. Well done lads

 

Thought people like Lamprell (GK), Taylor (Centre Forward) and Pratt (Centre Forward) may have been in with a shout too.

Taylor has been on holiday so hopefully when he gets back he will also sign a contract with us before the red side come sniffing.

 

Sam Cliff is 16 I believe. Went along to u18 training at the end of May and impressed so much they moved him into the reserves plans straight away like Taylor last season. It appears Cliff impressed at the trial night.

Interesting list-maybe i thought Mcaree (spelling) and even though he is also very young-Wheatley- would have been in this list.

 

I dont think anyone expects miracles from these guys this season.I just hope they have enough to keep us out of relegation trouble.

 

Biggest concern with these young guys though is physical presence-i don't think any of those (even Harker) have got much height.

He is an ex Ramsgate player Michael, from their Kent League days, currently with Hythe Town.

 

I too hoped Macaree and Wheatley were signed too.

Gregory was also with the other side of the isle for the ryman div 1 title and 1 season in the prem.. good bit of experience..

MM Curtis Robinson was at Ramsgate youth and reserves upto last season when he move away to uni in greenwich. Signed for Dover Reserves last season and came here for first team football.

Looks as though the first team from last season are all going to be replaced by reserves. Risky strategy to say the least. I can see them suffering a few heavy defeats unless some much stronger signings are made.
