Match Tickets

Recommended Posts

We always have season tickets, it would be useful to use a debit card to pay for those. As for match days, my brother often comes along and he always uses cash, and i think considering the amount, would be happy to continue doing so.

Besides wouldn't it slow things down at the gate? Or do you have something in mind to get round that?

the option of credit cards is always a good one in this day and age. it would certainly be handy behind the bar (for all those imromptue drinking sesions) and the two pubs i introduced credit cards to all improved taking imediately (people spend when they are drunk and if they cant see the money they are spending they spend more)

What a morally responsible attitude.

It was just an idea I had as I thought, for some people - ie those who don't get paid until after a match day - it would be easier for them to pay with a credit/debit card rather than having to make a trip to the bank to draw money out - or worse, miss the game!

Yeah i see where you are coming from, i guess the club must look at every way of maximising its income, it might be a benefit so long as it could be practically implemented, and it didn't slow things down too much. The only time i have paid using EFTPOS was at league clubs, and that was at the ticket office, not at the gate.

What exactly are you thinking of, paying for tickets in advance? an online shop?

I know some teams in the Conference sell tickets in advance but i don`t see the need at our level but an online shop could work although the p&p charges may make it expensive.

It was something that I have been thinking about for a while. I just wanted to get some feedback about it. I thought that if one person who wouldn't normally come to a game bought a ticket because the option of a credit/debit card payment system was there - then that must be a bonus? Especially if the club hasn't lost any money from it.

Also I have done some research (I have been bored lately) and found that offering people an option of buying directly online increases chances of sales by 14%. Although this probably isn't the case in non-league football, I still think there is potential to reach a market that no other clubs offer to.

I'd like to be able to pay for my season ticket with a card and anything in the Club shop on match days.

Don't think it would be very worthwhile for use in an online shop if you were to pay P+P charges as most fans can get to the ground with relative ease.

I have used my debit card in the club shop, definitely better than having to remember to bring my cheque book (whats one of those!) or hoping that I've got enough cash on me.

Really do think the club should look at letting people pay for their season tickets by card, it's so much quicker, and the funds would also be available to the club a lot quicker.
