Building work starts at DFC??

Recommended Posts

Not a particularly 'successful' meeting, by all accounts.

I may know more later this afternoon.

Are you able to indicate where the problems lie in signing the lease JR?

cost?

Length of lease?

repair/maintenance schedule?

subletting/use of ground?

Does the club think the council are being unreasonable or does the club think it will get a better deal by returning to court?

The club has said that last season the playing side suffered because of the lease problems, that cant happen again this season or the club won't need the ground.

Very delicate at the moment.

Certainly the length of the lease offered is a stumbling block, as is the repair and maintenance schedule. By putting these two subjects together, you might be able to see the problem.

I'd rather not say anything more at this stage as the 'Legal Eagles' are involved at the moment as the last meeting was only last Friday afternoon before the CCL AGM.

bjr is the judgement available anywhere yet, please?

We are hoping that the full Judgement will be available to us in a week or so. I am reliably informed that it will be published in full.

Two rather interesting press releases, TSF.

I see on the front page of this mornings Dorking Advertiser, that Spririt Inns, who run The Malthouse, Mill Lane Dorking have announced that they will be closing the pub on 29th. September, which presumably will allow Thornfied, the owners of the site, to submit fresh planning applications.

As someone remarked to me this morning on the subject, 'The plot thickens !'

i dont think its thickening there JR, the pub was always going to close when the lease runs out.

Its excellent news for DFC, get the clubhouse sorted and get all the lovely clientelle in from the Malthouse. Youll be able to pick up Gussy in a Bentley by Christmas!

I look forward to seeing the judgement, it will clarify a few things and make the clubs attitude more understandable I hope.

Haven't been down for a couple of days. Last time down, the complete new alarm system had been fitted and tested and the new pitch side windows were being installed.

I didn't know we were going to call it 'The Tight-Pockets Saloon', TSF ??
