A NEW MANAGER FOR SLOUGH TOWN SHOULD BE...

Guest

I have been a massive Slough Town fan since 1980, attending most home and away games in the 80s and 90s, but less so now, since moving away from Slough.

Through all my time being a fan of Slough Town I have monitored changes and developments in the community and in football nationwide.

I feel Slough Town needs a clear future, a large football/sports/leisure/entaintment complex or stadium, which should incorporate other local sports clubs, like the men's and women's hockey teams, rugby league team, etc., etc.

For me the town needs a new and strong identity which could feed of the success of the TV programme the Office, Ali G etc. I did put a proposal to Slough Borough Council in their plans for a new Slough, in that they should strongly consider building a 10,000 all-seater stadium/complex called the Planetarium, highlighting are strong links with Mars the company (now Masterfoods), Sir William Herschel, links to the Observatory Shopping Centre, and also identifying the fact that those that perform within the stadium are stars. The complex could be used during the day for conferences/meetings, used to host live concerts in the evening, used for educational purposes, attached with a range of shops, for sporting competitions, and a hotel facility. Slough Borough Council seem quite positive about the idea, particularly about building such a complex just of the M4. As per usual Slough Town Football Club did not take up this opportunity. Yet another opportunity wasted.

With regards to the manager for the club, I have seem a very good young Asian manager who has been working in India for their national team, who was particularly keen about working in England as an up and coming manager. He has got football coaching experience, and has played for the Indian national side and various teams in India.

Could you imagine the benefits Slough Town Football Club would get by employing him?

* Someone who is keen to do extremely well over in England.

* Someone who could bring a lot of positive press to Slough Town Football Club.

* Someone who could engage the Asian community in attending matches and supporting Slough Town, hence improve our finances.

* Someone who could bring in a range of players from a range of sources due to his links, across the globe.

* Someone who would bring the large Asian publicity from across the globe, and hence more investment into the club.

These are just some of the possible benefits of recruiting this new manager.

Mr Deaner if you REALLY CARE ABOUT SLOUGH TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB AND ITS SUPPORTS THIS IS SOMETHING I WOULD STRONGLY CONSIDER DOING AND ALSO FOLLOWING THE IDEAS THAT HAVE BEEN MENTIONED ABOVE.

From a supporter who cares very much about the club and the community of Slough.

Mr Deaner doesn't care about the club, only the land he can get through using the club - hence our problem.

Some good ideas and points there though. Would've been made a bit better to have a name against them, but you can't have everything!
