As you may be aware, earlier this week an unexploded wartime bomb was unearthed on a construction site near the train line between West Ham and Barking.

 

For safety reasons, the Police and M.O.D have requested that we close our railway lines between Barking and Limehouse between 21:00 on Thursday 05 June and 08.00 on Friday 06 June whilst they work to remove the device. We are advised that LUL

Thanx Annie, you're a gem, it's on the main C2C site now and I've never seen so many officials at Fen St and Barking giving out leaflets and answering questions.

I've gotta say it, since they were dubbed the Misery Line some 15/20 years ago there has been a vast improvement and this time the circumstances cannot be helped.

I think they have had several goes at "diffusing" the situation but have to have a full 11/12 hours now to resolve.

I would suggest anyone who travels on this line registers for the free texts on delays etc.. as I find it very useful and it gives the option of taking another route, eg Rumford.

Haven't heard a word from LRT, but that is not unusual.

The rolling stock on C2C, the "357" carriages are very comfortable and a big improvement on what they had before, air conditioned as well, and they wait for customers within reason unlike LRT!
