thay all have played for the gate and noo wot its all about!and are all doing well with the clubs that thay are at,and still only young?

wot do u all think?????????

and is there n e other good local players that can cut it in the ryman?i dont think bringing resis in to the 1st team who have not played in the ryman b4 is a good idea??

Pssibly a case for Whisker and Bagley, but otherwise, i anticipate that Mr Ashby is looking for a much higher quality than Cory,Pulman and Robinson-thats why they are Kent League. All of the current reserves are better and more importantly-have greater potential.

If you listen to Yorath's interview-he wants a winning side-i don't think he will have much interest in any club below Ryman premier level-and you get the impression that he does not want us at this level too long.

We probably are'nt ready for it next season, but i anticipate the pressure-and funding- really on BA from all quarters to get promotion in 2009/10

As before, i believe the whole youth/local thing is being read into too much by some supporters, and that this is a process of gradual change.Yorath,Southall,Ashby,Smith are'nt on board to have fun at a club at Kent league standard-fear not-

I bow to your (alleged) superior knowledge MM. But I have seen all those players play this season and when seen they did all perform well. Robinson is still in Kent League plying for Deal and when I saw him play he tore Herne Bay to pieces (Havent a couple of Herne Bay players since signed for the red side). As for Cory and Pullman they are a very succesfull strike partnership playing for Whistable along with Wisker and Bagley who turned it around from them when they arrived there.

Now all of them have gone on and improved since leaving the Gate so yes they should (if they want to) come back and show what they are worth. After all they have expierence now.

Totally agree with what the like of mfcbest and joseba are saying. The door shouldn't be closed to any Thanet talent that have gone out and tried to improve their game by playing Kent League Football.

At the same time I must also agree with others about certain youth we already have at the club. For the ones of us that have been fortunate enough to have already seen the likes of Quain, Lewis and McAree, who looks like the most exciting talent any of us could hope for. We've got to let these lads have a go and if they can produce their sublime skills, at this level, what an exciting and enjoyable season we're all going to have.

Must say I believe they can not only cut the mustard but have plenty of years on their side, to improve, and take us even further.

We must be willing to give both sets old and new a go but foremost they must want to play for Margate FC first and foremost.

The young lads won't be demanding a king's ransom for us to try them out and see if they are good enough. I would have thought they would be just happy enough to cover their expenses i.e. boots, fines and travel for training, where ever it takes place. Plus maybe

"Now all of them have gone on and improved since leaving the Gate"

Why are they playing at a lower level? If they were that good a bigger club than Whitstable or Deal would have snapped them up. In any case, we are supposed to be looking to young players - David Cory and Ian Pulman must be mid to late 20s.

Pulman was always a player with loads of potential. He didnt really get the chance to shine at Margate or Ramsgate. But hes done brilliantly at Whitstable. Averaging nearly a goal a game. he holds the ball up well, playes good passes and scores goals.

I think he would do really well for the gate now with the experience he has. Same with other players to a lesser extent def worth giving whisker and bagley another chance. Aaron Robinson with good coaching could still do a good job too and so could Corey...The players from the reserves need some experienced players to help them. I think it would make good business sense to ask some of these players back.

The club should have stuck by some of these players...Rather than some of the players who keith piper described as just " here for the money" many of these players really wanted to play for their local club.

Who knows where theywill be next season Alan. I Can't speak for the other lads but Dan justs loves playing football and Whitstable want him to stay .

They are not contracted yet so you never know. On a personal note I'd like him to stay there because he is getting good coaching playing most games and enjoying his football again and for me thats what its all about.

I know other clubs have been after his services but I hope he stays put and gets another season under his belt at Rymans south and hopefully help Whitstable gain promotion. They are a nice friendly, family club who treat their players and fans with a lot of repect and at present it is good for him to be there.

If he is there next season I will gladly give you a lift over mate when you fancy it as I go to as many games as possible to watch him home and away.
