Maintenance Weekend 28th/29th June

DA11

Recommended Posts

Hi all. After discussions with the club today we can announce the maintenance weekend will take place on the 28th and 29th June. To be honest maintenance is probably an over statement as the majority of work involves the work of a brush. Maurice will give us a list of the areas that need to be painted and we will also need volunteers to assist in clearing the area behind the Stonebridge Road stand (not for the faint hearted one should add). Most of the equipment will be supplied but I would suggest garden gloves are a must. Some of you have been kind enough to offer your services but if anyone else is interested then please let either myself or Steve know. I will keep everyone updated as we go along. Thanks for your time.

Is the sick still there from when the contents of a Plough Ender's stomach were emptied behind the stand?

He talking about the main road stand, Kayne. But agreed, I wouldn't go behind the Plough End seats for at least another year.

for some pics of the work required and currently being done by Maintenance Mo and Caretaker Colin at Stonebridge Road.

Works include

- Improvement of security by fitting locks with 'crow-bar proof' welded steel boxes Fixing panels to cover cracks in flooring of the main stand

- Creating larger space for kit beneath the main stand

- Building stairs for new access point to the Centre Stand seating (to ease congestion in the tunnel on match days)

- Making an ice bath (in the area previously used for kit) so hopefully the players wont have to use a wheely bin next season

- Fixing holes in the roof

- Erecting new advertising hoardings

- Overseeing installation of new emergency lighting

Cheers Mark

  • 4 weeks later...

I must say it was fun today. I was part of the big hunt for Jarvis`s pants behind the terrace stand.. Despite seven of us hacking away at brambles , bushes tree things , there was no sign of said Y fronts.

It was good to see peopel had travelled a fair distance to come down and whne i left at 2pm (family duties) a lot of work had been done.

Plenty of soft drinks provided and a barbeque for lunch made it a fun morning.

Today is what MYFC/Fleet Trust/Long term supporters should take as a big positive. All working together and all enjoying the work.

Get behind the bitchiness , and there are real people who want to help make this club something to be proud of. For the first time in a long while , I am actually very positive about the whole of MYFC and Ebbsfleet United.

For someone who sits behind a desk and eats donuts for a living (according to my nephew), today was welcomed excercise. Hope to get down tomorrow as well.

Get down there tomorrow and help. Its really appreciated by all.

It was a real fun weekend and a pleasure to be away from the computer for 3 days. I know that if the same is needed next year, getting people there wont be a problem. The best thing for me was getting practical things done and not just talk about it.

Good effort Slarti! I am not biting though.

It is indeed a Chicago Cubs hat. Purchased from Wrigley Field where I saw them hammer the Milwaukee Brewers.
