We've got a new Director of Football but HE can't say what his role is. (despite having to live locally to perform it)

Well how informative was that then?

Factually correct and frustrating for us all i guess.

In fairness to KP and the Piperettes however;many of us have been on here screaming for news-even when there is no news.
The club delivered last night-no news.
But we had said-tell us even if there is no news,so can we really 'complain'? we got what we asked for.

(not to detract from the accomplishment of securing Mr Yorath's services -which was 'news'

In addition the club did put on a meeting to tell us 'no news',and a few people from MFC gave up there time to attend,so i believe some credit is due to MFC.

The fact that the place was full of supporters given the chance to ask questions unless the club refused to answer any then we cannot moan too much.

Like all business deals things can drag on for whatever reason and yes probably we have not helped ourselves at times but as long as the people they are making an effort for the good of Margate FC I will support them

Have to agree with you both, and the comment was made a little tongue in cheek. It is quite an exciting time at the moment and a lot more positive than a few weeks ago. Hopefully the news updates and new management team may encourage a few more of those lost supporters back through the turnstiles. I would, however, like to see some movement on a commercial manager, either full or part time.

No idea whether Southall or Yorath are full time but if either / both of them are then I'd have thought some commercial manager-type duties might be an idea for the pair of them. Their reputations (ie anybody who's interested in football has heard of them) might impress potential sponsors etc. I actually doubt either of them are full time but in the absence of knowing what they'll be doing otherwise a bit of selling / promotion of the club might be a good way to fill their spare time.

I do believe that the club have lost thousands of pounds over the last few seasons through the lack of sponsorship. I'm sure a lot more can be done with little or no costs. Match sponsors and ball sponsors have been few and far between over the last two years. It just needs someone to approach the bigger companies around Thanet to try and get some interest. I know Keith said that the commercial managers have not been successful since Cliff Egan, so what was he doing right? Is it something that the supporters club could get involved in?

It's harder than you think, especially with many firms starting to feel the pinch. Take this from kentishfootball...

TONBRIDGE Angels are also finding difficulties attracting sponsors, despite things going well on the pitch under boss Tommy Warrilow.

Speaking to the Kent and Sussex Courier Newspaper, Angels vice-chairman Garry Pass explained the current situation.
