future looks good...well excited

Recommended Posts

Dont post on here much but after tuesdays meeting i thought i had to say how excited i was being a local player and seeing the chance i might get. I am currently at the ursuline academy with generation sports and have been with the margate u18's/ressies for the past 2 seasons. For the first time i think i got a good chance of being in the first team...its about time locals had their chance!

Also to mention i keep hearing about this person that person pushing the club forward regarding youth but i think massive credit should be given to phil fennel & tom hickman of generation sports as it was these 2 who got the academy/18's/ressies up and running 2 years ago. i know if it wasnt for these guys the likes of myself, aaron quain, matt bowls, chris lewis, jason mcaree etc.. wouldnt be at this club!!!!

I totally agree with the above. I wish you luck, hope you take your chance and prove to those that do not believe that local footballers are not good enough, wrong.

Totally agree with above these two (Phil and Tom) deserve a special mention for all their work, ambition, faith, desire and drive to have made all this possible.

In truth there's a total of four dedicated personnel that have made all this come to fruitrition Phil Fennel, Tom Hickman, Mark Weatherly and Steve Moore. Thanks go to them all.

Being a supporter of the Reserves for most of last season, I too am pleased to see some of these lads will have a chance to shine in the first team at some stage. With the right training and dedication from them, Margate, I believe, can only prosper. Well done to Phil and Tom but I must say a special thanks to Mark and Steve too who I saw made a big difference to the lads with their backing and encouragement. applause

Agree with this but just think we should be cautious in looking to throw in too many youngsters at once.In fairness seems like this wont happen.Would like to see the spine of the team with plenty of experience ie keeper, centre-back, centre-mid, centre-forward for starters.

I agree Buzz, should only be a handful at a time, but dont forget the ones already on contract for 1st team are mostly under 22 too.

Well in todays paper, Ashby is saying he is working like mad with Smith to get his first signings, so hopefully will get some experience too.

Ok - Ill bite - so what is ur valid point then IAN, from a Ramsgate supporters view I suppose you might have the opinion that weve seen it all before and that these two fellas are not likely to succeed in signing experienced players from this or any other level, however u 'R' a Ramsgate supporter so any statement regarding MFC be it cynical/critical or for that matter a paragraph of support (and I use that word jokingly) is frankly not welcome. I am not attacking u Ian I am just answering ur statement which is both hollow and not needed, if u wish to use this forum( margate ) to soapbox your, lets face it unwelcome views on MFC, you must also be prepared to get

SOME FLAK!!!!!
