Meet & greet session 4 the new management team - all very amicable but questions were limited to the management staff only. Had to leave half way thru, tho dont expect there were any real revelations to be had. Maybe someone that stayed on might fill in the missing parts!!!!!

We have a very good set up, there is no doubt about that and their ambitions sound very promising. Ashby in Particular speaks extremely well and if we play aswell as he speaks then we are in for a promising season, though do not expect success straight away.

Page said that we have a new sponsor, but is in no position to anounce who it is.

Ashby has spoken to 2 league clubs about friendlies and they are still to reply. Ashby and Smith are also in talks with some players. He did also say that there will be local players in the side next season, but won't be loads to start of with and will gradually bring them in when he feels it right, this includes scouting for players locally.

They said that we have atleast 6/7 players who were with us last season and will be next. (they still need to speak to more i think)

Ashby said his ambitions is to do aswell as possible next season, which imo is a good attitude to have.

They are the main points i can remember at the moment and i'm sure others will add. I have come out of todays open meeting feeling quite excited for the pre-season to start and ultimately the season to start and i really hope Ashby Walks aswell as he Talks

I'm very positive after this meeting. Anyone who has compared this appointment to the Trott one.. There is a world of difference to be honest. The depth of the contacts these guys have, their mentality, they are born winners. And, they seem like great blokes. I don't want to sound like I'm expecting them to deliver a winning team immediately, but damn sure they'll do their best.

If anyone was going to put the pride back in this club then this management team is the one to do it. COME ON YOU BLUES!

I read above that they want a couple of friendlies against league clubs.

Are the rumoured friendlies against ramsgate (twice) and Gt.Wakering rovers (and any others) confirmed ?

Did i dream last night that Mr Ashby said that he prefers to win 1-0 rather than 5-4.

Is he a man who does not like to 'concede the nil'

A Cookie post - Be warned !!

I was just a little disappointed with last night really. Some questions beggared belief.i.e "Where will you be in 3 years time"? & "If we get relegated will you still be here or will you go"? How positive are those questions to a newly signed manager who hasn't even "kicked a ball yet" (so to speak).

Other questions fired at Ashby were answered well but there wasn't really anything there that any other manager wouldn't have said or that we weren't already aware of. Still,we got his confirmation of that though.

He certainly talks & communicates better than our previous manager, thats for sure.I suppose just meeting everyone was main objective so at least that was achieved with good feedback from most.

A very likeable chap & a person that I can see getting things moving on the playing front with signings whether that be youth or more experienced players.

I can see us getting positive results him at the helm no matter what team he puts out there. Lets hope so. His attitude seems to be spot on.

Paul Smith didn't speak a lot though to be fair he wasn't really asked any questions.Lets hope he does the talking ON the pitch when the time comes.

I was hoping to get more about the development last night too but it was asked that we kept things to football matters only. With the new chaps being there that was fair enough I thought. Shame we couldn't have had other matters AFTER the meeting( on other issues),seeing as though everyone was there anyway.

Maybe the thought of that wasn't uppermost in most peoples minds at the time. The turn out was very good by the way.

I did approach KP after the meeting as did John (Bodyform) about communication between the club & the fans.

Keith is more than well aware that news about the OFF field activities are at the top of our list & he says he will be getting a meeting arranged very soon solely for that purpose,to update us on those things.

Thats when the full weight of our many questions on that side of things will come into play & in doing do so we might get some positive answers in return.

He also said he had talked to a lot of league clubs who were prepared to loan us Young ambitious players if and when needed.

Neville Southall also invited anyone out there who wanted a trial to get in touch. Anyone out there who knows of a talent, to also get in touch. He, Mark, would, if unknown, cast an eye over them.

"Joseba" Jim, asked about players from the whole of East Kent and a 40 goal kid in particular. Luigi Scott (Chairman of the Margate Youth set up)replied by saying he would be here next season.

As i have said before, through all the wrangles an awful lot of work as been going on.

I thought Jim was referring to that rumoured 40 goal Sudbury signing,Graeme.

That was another one wasn't it. The Managers answered that one I think. May be i got the 2 mixed up, the memories not as good as it used to be.

Crikey, 2 goal machines. Wouldn't that be great.

Don't worry Graeme it happens to all of us at some time. Maybe it was me who got my wires crossed. No matter, time will tell who we get & who we don't eh?
