Coach ! trust you to be the one that brings me back to the Forum - absolutely brilliant quiz that will bring back many a happy memory for all ESL fans. It is only fair that I refrain from answering any but if there are any arguments or queries on the answers I will be pleased to help. Interestingly, the gentlemen in the last question is still playing League football and was on TV recently. " Football Man " knows the answer better than anyone as he was Secretary of Ilford FC at the time and endorsed his registration before the game with Eton Manor ! Also, in question NO 1 the striker's family owned the fish and chip shop at Hadleigh but now seem to have gone.

Was that the chippy on the one way westbound system by Hadleigh Church then if so it is greatly missed by yours truly and Mrs yours truly. We used to motor all the way down there from Romford and take our fish and chips down to the bottom of the lane by Hadleigh Castle to eat or sit in our car in the layby across the road alongside the church.

Best chippy ever!! They lived out towards GW I believe.

Okay, as League Chairman has said, I know the answer to 18 so I'll leave that to others. The other ones I know:

8) Saffron Walden Town

9) Reg Curtis

13) Richard & Nicola Allum (now divorced, I believe)

Question 19:

Which current ESL Manager (and part-time postie) who frequents this forum had the honour of sitting next to Football Man during last Sunday morning's Eastern Junior Alliance play-off at Southend Manor FC? laugh

This player, introduced by Reg Curtis to Eton Manor on September 18th 1999, that constitutes the answer to Q 18 is a right mystery in terms of all his catalogued references as all the football annuals give his " source" as Dubrovnik and Wikpedia go as far as saying HNK Dubrovnik and that Lenny Lawrence signed him for Leyton Orient. In fact as Coach says, he played two matches for Eton Manor, the first,as a 25 year old against Ilford in the League Cup and scoring the winning goal after 37 mins. His first game for Orient was against Lincoln City. He now plays for Millwall. So, I consider his " source" to be Eton Manor !
