Bedfont Green

The Club are delighted to announce signing with Windsor & Eton Football Club to share their excellent Stag Meadow ground next season.

The facilities at the St. Leonards Road are excellent with possibly one of the best playing sufaces in non-league football and will host BGFC until 2010 with an option to extend the deal.

We will add directions to the ground on this website very soon.

The Reserves and Under 18s will continue to play out of Avenue Park which is currently undergoing major works on the playing surface, due to be completed for the start of August.

Interesting move, a fair way out though. Stag Meadow is one of my favourite grounds. They must have done a bit of work on the pitch, as the last time I went there with AFCW (2 seasons ago?) it was terrible. Looked like a tractor had gone down one side!

this groundshare thing is ridiculous, how does this one fit within the rules?

another two relegated from the coco?

luckily i havent been permanently mentally scarred by the guildford and dorking fiasco of the mid 70s.......

I thought you (?) were going to move in with H&R for the season?

... and are you ever likely to use your own ground (Ave Pk) for first team footy (I still haven't been there - tried once on a B/H and couldn't find it!) At the time none of the 'locals' we asked had heard of you either. Was intending to go this season before Neasden F. went under.

I hear you've put up a slightly bigger sign on the A40 now?

Ta.

PS I'm not quite sure quite why RTFC/BAD - LDB has posted the link to H&R's ground above - presumably cos he too had read that you were based there next season?

Oh! and the link from the 'pyramidpassion' page to H&R is an old one - their newer site is now @:-

Hampton & Richmond website

Stag Meadow seems to be a bit of a NL Hostel - always seems to have somebody or other as 'lodgers'.

Stag Meadow is a lovely ground. Loads of work have been to the pitch over the last season or so, including automatic watering and drainage.

I know W & Etons Director of Football well, and have been invited there on several occasions. A very friendly club !

Nice one Bedfont Green.

SL how did you find your first season in management was it easy for you or did it come as a bit of a culture shock, its not as easy as some would like to think and can often backfire if you can't take to it properly, remembering you have to be the one who is setting the rules and not a player anymore who just wants to play and have the crack.

There is a big sign on the A40 re Bedfont Green as have seen it a few times. I've also never been there though. When AFCW played the now defunct Viking Greenford in the CCL, it was switched to Hayes FC so missed out then.

I think H&R have had to upgrade their ground a bit more to qualify for the play-offs for Blue Sq Prem (they lost the play-off final in the end). Not been for a year or two, although will get to go next season now. They have also rebuilt the clubhouse which is now very swish. That newish stand behind the goal with the red & blue seats looks like a shrunken Holmesdale end at Selhurst!

We are planning on starting Pre-Season on June 26th. Nice light run through to get them back into things on the first night and then start building it all up. We are ready on the friendly side and training plans. Just got to speak to a couple of more players and we will be there ready to try and take the Lammas title, which they are favorites for again.
