You and I know that mate as does everyone on here. I'm just trying to see it from his side aswell. I expect that many accusations and arguements have taken place since the season ended and i'm sure MR wouldn't want to give the others any more ammo if you know what i mean.

The important point and the key to it all is who owns the club?

Those holding the majority of the shares irrespective of whether they are directors, resigned directors or whatever have always held the trump cards.

Perhaps for everyone's sake it would have been better if Malcolm had turned off the lights as he left and a new club could be formed on an open and demcratic basis.

I don't know why anyone is suprised. KP was always going to get what he wanted as he owes the majority shares. He would never have walked away untill he gets his money back. So now you will see Terry Yorath as the new manager as agreed before Piper resigned and maybe in a year or two we will be going through the same old sh1t once more.

Apparently a very close source to the club told me today, in Bromley, that we are merging with Ramsgate and being renamed Thanet United!!!! We will be playing at Southwood as they have new roofs.

It is expected that the new Management Team will be announced by the end of the week and it is the intention to call an open meeting for supporters in the next few days.

Up the Gate!

Looks like the worst possible news. Stand by for more raised hopes and broken promises?

Well Steve looks like you've gone fishing and caught yourself some Southwood sole. Although I don't like Piper its obvious that thats where the money is (in Lever and co). Still want to see a mixture of the local's best footballers and experience. We'll see what happens over the next few days.

If this had been a running storyline in a soap for the last couple of weeks then people would criticise it for being extremely far fetched!

My predictions are that KP will come back on board and then Colin will resign. Because Colin resigns Alan Bonner will come back on board. KP will install GL on the board and Alan Bonner will resign. KP and GL will try to find new board members but the only ones interested will be Rowlett and Painter. They will come back on board and KP and Lever will resign. Kelly will resign from running the bar and Melvin will take over. This will then cause all the catering staff who wanted the bar managers job to resign and Lever will buy the rights to all the food outlets.

While all this is going on, Rays request for vital equipment for the pitch has been overlooked and he will resign. And he will take the pitch with him. The club will then buy a new aerator (or something) and Ray will come back. I would then resign from doing the programme as no-one would have resigned for a couple of days. A new programme editor will be appointed but the programme sellers will then resign as they do not like the change.

Rambo will resign just because it has become the thing to do and JJ will become kit man. He will then will resign after a couple of days as he would be disillusioned with the way the kit was washed, to be replaced by Malcolm Rowlett.

And what happens beyond this weekend I cannot predict.

Steve

PS. I am now officially resigning from this thread. Unless I withdraw that because of another post worth replying to.

You may be right Dave.

Glad we finally have an update as Mike says. This is a huge step to moving forward.

Seems like as others suggest, that Piper, Page and Lever will form the core of the new board. This is the only way it was going to happen with Piper retaining his shares IMO.

I think this could turn out to be well, when i first heard the news i initially though oh no there is someting serious going on at the club then though if this was the case why has Colin Page returned. I think Rowlett and co realised that the club couldn't stand on it's own 2 feet and they realised the club needs someone to pump money into it which Piper, Lever and Page were doing and Rowlett and co weren't willing to do really.

They realised that someone needed to put money into the club and none of them were willing to do it as they probably realised they wouldn't get that money back and they are all business men not football supporters.

This only my view of what i think has happened and i could be completely wrong, things will become apparant at the fans meeting hopefully, which i am looking forward to.

I'm glad Page is back and was sorry to see him go tbh.

I am now more optimistic about where we are going then i was about a month ago

p.s Alan has a surprise to come home to

Perhaps it will come to that. But it would be a shame if it did. Look at what happened to Enfield when i first moved to london they were top of the conference(alliance as it was called then) Then the club got taken over by a property speculator promising the moon, knocking the ground down. Moving the club away from enfield...Eventually some fans got fed up and went on to form enfield town. others (a minority) stayed with the originals. Both clubs now exist as pale shadows of a once succesful club.

I really hope that something better than that will come out of this. There are so many people in Thanet and beyond who would like to see a succesful club. But this saga seems never ending.
I really do feel for all the regular fans. Watching the gate away i am usually impressed by how many travel from Thanet.
They deserve much better than this ongoing farce.
