An interesting post on the TK site

An interesting post on the TK site -

"There would be no players registered to both Sporting Bengal United and Beaumont Athletic simantaneously. The BFA UK who is the umbrella organisation that runs Sporting Bengal was opposed to Beaumont switching to senior status football. The BFA UK would not allow joint registration especially with Beaumont as BFA UK has a rule that member clubs (including Beaumont) cannot play at the same level as Sporting Bengal.

The main reason for Beaumont dropping down to Essex Olympian League is that Beaumont is trying to keep BFA UK happy as Beaumont particpates in many BFA UK activites throughout the year."

There is also a follow up post on the same thread asking why the FA is prepared to allow the PFA to interfere with the plans of clubs who are affiliated to them on both the national and county level.

I tend to agree as it implies a sort of national footballing UDI for ethnic reasons which shouldn't be allowed.

Having read the follow up post, I can't imagine why the BFA UK want to only have Sporting Bengal as their football figure head. Surely it would make more sense to have as many BFA teams in senior football as possible to give places at that level for aspiring footballers.

A possibility I suppose but why weren't they allowed to join the ESL in the first place instead of becoming a Kent League side?

The ground wasn't deemed fit for the ESL....then Beaumont share it and low and behold it's now acceptable.....but it wasn't for Eton Manor!

Very long story but, in short, the Kent League did the dirty on the ESL.

Which no doubt helps in part to explain why the ESL are not interested in linking up with the KL.
