Bostwick signs for Stevenage

Let's just hope that we had offered MB a new deal so that we can get a fee for him, although with him having been with us such a short time, it won't be a lot.

Can you explain this more ? . Is it due to his age ?. Does the act of offering a player give us rights for getting a fee ? .

Because he is under 24, under the Bosman ruling, you get a fee even though he is out of contract, but only if you have offered a new contract. (I think it has to be at least the same as the previous contract, but don't hold me to that)

The point of this is to protect small clubs who bring a player through their Youth system, only for him to leave for a big club once he is established.

It is a shame when Liam brings out the best in the players he gets, only to lose them to the likes of Westley. Stevenage must have sheds of dosh, but they will still be stuffed at the close of next season with a bit of grit and determination.

The problem is that when you have a showcase like Wembley there is a price to pay.

I'm not attempting to be a MyFC apologist here, but in this case, MyFC is NOT to blame. Daish has had the approval for some weeks now to negotiate with current squad members as he saw fit. For reasons that perhaps only Daish and Bostwick will know, they didn't come to acceptable terms.

What concerns me more is that the budget/process for bringing NEW players to the squad has not been sorted!

Plus don't forget Danny Slatter will be back from his injury. He'll be up for playing again.

That is exactly the news I didn't want to hear. I was holding out and hoping that Bostwick would stay on for one more year to see if we get in the Football League or not. Oh well I suppose it was inevitable.

But the news of Sacha due to sign a new deal has soften the blow so thanks for the KShep.

Now I just hope that we sign Chris McPhee, Luke Moore and Neil Barrett to new deals aswell than I can stop being nervous about players signing new deals.

Hopefully Luke Moore will hit the protein shakes and the gym this summer, get some strength to match his pace, learn from the experience he has, and become a little stronger and more composed next season. I'm repeating myself but we really need a fast, calm striker to make the most of Big John- I really hope Luke will step up and be this striker!

I admit Moore's speed is enticing, but I'm not as keen on him overall as many here are. But he's young, so maybe it's just experience that is needed. But for me, he's pushed off the ball far too easily and doesn't score enough, either through rash attempts or being dispossessed too easily. I think we need another, more imposing striker to pair with Akinde. I see Moore as a midfielder, to be honest, where his speed is put to better use. Just my two cents' worth.

Definitely ashame that we've lost Bostwick, he and Barrett combined well in midfield. I believe that we're strong play-off contenders for next season, so I don't think Bostwick thinks Stevenage can do any better. So, it must be down to wages and more importantly, his allegiance to Westley. Shame.

Your two cents makes perfect sense! Apart from Moore in midfield, there are better options already in place...

Nothing to stop you starting one!! Some people will believe anything they read on the reliable source of information known as THE INTERNET! Including Sacha going to Chelmsford City!
