Bostwick signs for Stevenage

Recommended Posts

Questions must be asked as to how much of an influence the "myfc" aspect is having regarding signing players up and extending contracts. How quickly is Daish able to act when something like this happens - does he have to go before a random collective and ask for permission?

If player a becomes available does he have to ask the "owners" permission and give them seven days to moan about it etc during which time player a has signed for someone else?

It all needs clarification rather than loads of infighting and people being precious.

Also - how much of a put off is it for any potential signing?

Bostwick will be a big miss and is clearly better than Stevenage - good luck to him but it's disappointing.

As a MyFCer and a regular on here, this is news to me, so I don't think there has been any direct MyFC involvement in this. If there has been and we have not been informed, I (and several thousand others) will want to know why!

I think it is a concern that we are losing players to other BSP sides.

I could accept Charlie Mac and Ross Smith progressing to league sides and would also understand if Chris McPhee similarly moved.

This looks like Bossie thinks that he will do better at Stevenage than Ebbsfleet and that is worrying!

I'm not on here to defend MyFC but i don't think that they had any involvement in this. The only vote MyFC have had in relation to players' contracts was to vote in favour of giving Liam the ability to negotiate/re-negotiate existing players contracts. Bossie was out of contract so either he wanted away or Liam didn't offer him the contract he wanted.

The thing about all this, the players themselves, know what other team members intention are. Who they feel may stay or go. If they feel that Ebbsfleet may struggle next season, it could lead to a mass exodus. As a club we have improved the condition and skills of these players but don't have them on a contract, even if it's for 18 month's, to take them past the the end of season corridor, so we at least get something for the coaching staffs hard work.
I don't just blame Myfc. I believe some of it is the ground and it's facilities, and the name the club has due to it. When you have someone like Will Brooks stating it may take yet another 4 years for us to acquire a new stadium. It comes across as a lack of ambition in my eyes. The saga over a new Stadium has been going on now for how long?? yet it could be another 4 years ? why? As i said it makes us look unambitious. Or as the other conference teams fans infer, Tinpot. The council, Eurostar, both or whoever is backing the stadium move need to give us(the fan) the players and the club some ray of light. I also think the lack of ambition, or what comes across as such, is also some of the reason for the poor home attendance. Who wants to watch a mediocre team, playing mediocre football, because the club has little or no ambition. Behind the scenes the club may have Lot's of ambition, but they now have to keep so many masters happy, that the procedures will cost us in the long run. If Liam is going to recommend a player, Myfc then say yes, as they will have no reason to say no, Why vote, the same with contracts, if the votes are just going to rubber stamp Liam's choices, which I think they will, again why vote, just let him run the team

absolutely gutted to lose Bostwick, what a player who really did help turn defence into attack. Barrett can do the same job but now we need to sign another decent midfielder, I trust Liam to do this. It is just shame to lose him to another BSP club who obviously offered him much better money, plus chipmunk is there again.

MyFC MUST have been involved - after all don't ye run the club now?

I think this kind of situation is another reason for the doubts about the whole MyFC thing - how can ye only get involved with certain aspects of running a club, surely its ALL or NOTHING?

This really has nothing to do with MyFc, the Club or anything other than the fact that Bostwick is/was Westley's man and would always rejoin him once he went back into management.

Let's just hope that we had offered MB a new deal so that we can get a fee for him, although with him having been with us such a short time, it won't be a lot.
