Had my first game of the season on Sat, drew 2-2 and I scored!!! Here's to my playing comeback at 39!!!

 

Took some photos of the clubhouse whilst I was up there and thought i'd put the link on here for all to see.

what an improvement from the old place HH,I played for Hartley the first night game they had after the new floodlights were installed,Hartley need to be in the premier league its where you belong but the hardwork begins now and you have to get a team that is capable of staying there,it is very difficult to get the quality players that are around as we are all chasing the best players this is where the money thing starts to rear its ugly head,i've heard some ridiculous amounts of cash that is being offered particuarlly by one club

I'm not sure of our money status so this might not be 100% but we generally pay win bonuses and travel expenses. If we start paying players like we did 4 years ago we'll end up in div 1 again when we can't afford it. The facilities and player banter we have should go a long way towards players wanting to wear the Hartley shirt. We might not have the best team next year but the players will be playing for what they wear on their shirt and not what's in their pocket.

I don't want to put off top quality players, I just want them here for the right reasons.

 

If the chairman says different I will change this post.

When you played at Hartley did you have to change in the old green hut?

I think we moved from one of the worst changing rooms to one of the best.

Still lots of work to be done at the club but we are a small village who love our club and will work wonders to make our home an enjoyable place to visit.

Tour was decent, felt awful for about 4 days after. Some funny [****!!****] though, and some great women.
