PRE SEASON GAMES

Recommended Posts

nothing to say to be honest. I dont want to get into a debate either. But its fair to say AN AWFUL LOT of trialists played and MANY FIRST TEAM players trained by the side without playing. We played tuesday and we play again Saturday.

I wouldnt say 7 or 8 nil would have been a fair reflection tho. doh

I saw part of the Brimsdown/Wormley match. From what I can gather the Manager was just looking at his squad, He played 11 in the first third and changed the whole team in the 2nd third, Then played the ones he wanted to look at more, in the third period. Wormleys winning goal was a complete farce. Brimsdown won a throw in and one of the Wormley players went down injured. As the Brimsdown player threw the ball,Wormley complained that the throw was taken, while he was down. The ball had been thrown to a Brimsdown defender, who was in his own penalty area. He (probably stupidly) thought play was going to be stopped for the injured player. He picked the ball up and threw it back to player who took the throw in. The Ref (Dominges) awarded Wormley a penalty, for handling in the box!!!! A Brimsdown player tried to talk to him about it, and was given a straight red card!!! A little bit over the top by the Referee, to say the least. Other then that I think the Manager achieved what he wanted to.

Petethegreek - Did you have to copy Hollie's post again. Will you be Refereeing any pre-season friendlies before the season starts.

At what other time would he referee a pre-season friendly?

Septimus - I meant is he appointed to any, I'll be interested to know which ones if he can disclose that information, I guarantee one is at Haringey Borough.

Actually, you just watched TWO Brimsdown teams play, and draw, against a very strong and settled Cuffley team. Once again the Brimsdown Manager changed the whole team at half time. Maybe 'not one player stood out' but then is that such a bad thing? It could mean that there are no 'superstars' who want to win the ball in defence, dribble through the mid-field and then try to be top goal scorer. Remembering that there are only two or three of last years squad left, and that the Manager only picked his first team squad AFTER the match, I don't think he has done too bad, so far. Yes, he has a massive hill to climb, and after the upheavel at the club, most people ARE probably thinking they will end up at the bottom of the league, so your little wager, after watching one squad forming match, is hardly going to make people gasp in shock.

Evening all, just thought you would be interested to hear about the amazing result Corinthian-Casuals had at Welsh Premier Division Prestatyn Town this afternoon, they only lost 2-0 with Prestatyn netting their second very close to the end of the proceedings and Hector Varela's young team having opportunities to equalise prior to that. If you consider the winners of the Welsh Premier Division go into the Champions League, with Prestatyn arguably favourites, and the gulf between the Welsh Premier and the Ryman League Division 1 South this surely has to be one of the results of all time.
