Could a member please help me out here? I can see some title threads and wondered whether someone could vaguely summerise them for me?

Liam Daish for the sack? : take it this one is not serious

Who will not renew their membership? : because of not PTT, majority going to renew?

Martin Samuel? : What has he said to upset MyFC now?

Also I see the membership is still increasing, around 825000 for the Fleet and 225 for Will(well 'website maintenance').

Thanks for your help

This is an important post as it shows how the comments of one person yesterday can give the opinion of "MYFC THIS , or MYFC that "

The thread was started a long time ago and ignored by most. Then yesterday some individual posted on it for the first time in months, bumps it up, and then the world sees it when they look at the front page.

Liam is as highly thought of on the MYFC site as he is on here.

Who will not renew their membership ?. Its a thread that anybody can start and if people are not happy, they have posted on it.

Mantin Samuel. Well he did say a few unpleasant things about MYFC members and made himself unpopular on a couple of occasions.

Membership is just over 30,000 at the moment. Many expect that to drop in January when memberships are due to renewal, mainly people who signed up early and maybe dont like the club choice, or who lost interest. Over 2,000 have signed up already for more than 1 year, and I would hope that people who joined after MYFC and EUFC were together, might be more inclined to renew.

WE will have to wait and see.

Any omre questions, please post and I will try and explain. But I do agree that the Liam sack thing looks bad,but as I say its totally out of context with the views of the vast majority.

Just to bring a bit of balance, to what was obviously a trolling post about sacking Liam, here are a couple of the responses:

"delete this idiotic thread"

-------------

"seriously though have you watched any fleet games, on TV or live, read any match reports etc

In the three years Liam has been at EUFC he's been pushing for play-offs twice and also got us to the FA Trophy final this term. He's built a good young solid squad here and I think they'll go places.

your scathing remarks are utter rubbish."

--------------

I'm not particularly proud of my own "over-enthusiastic" response so I won't repeat it here.

Why don't MYFC poll the current membership to gauge how many are likely to renew? The sooner the better.

With MYFC presumably servicing the 25K monthly deficit of the Club I'd be interested to know roughly what the minimum membership would need to be for MYFC to continue paying for this deficit. Simple maths tells me:

10,000 x 27.50 =

That's been hanging on MyFC for a while, take no bloody notice, probably 1 in every 500-1000 members want that to happen, but [****!!****] knows why.

Yorkfox is better qualified than me to answer this but it relates to one of the FAT games where, when listening at home, Miss Yorkfox pulled out her red toothbrush and the Fleet immediately scored. Since then the Red Toothbrush has been taken on mystical significance - MyFC superstitious, my ar*e!

May I ask a question please YORK FOX, do you know when Liam will be made aware of his 'budget' for the coming season. Fairly critical I would think as many other clubs with aspirations of promotion are already out there getting some good signings.

Many thanks.

Also fairly critical that he knows what the recruitment policy is as well.

ie. Will he need to go to a full vote for each new person he wants in, and how much he is to offer them. I am not a MYFCer so not sure whether this has all been ironed out.

I hope he is just given a budget, and how he utilises it is up to him.

Even if it is only that person it still has got me a little annoyed. Why in the hell anyone would want Liam sacked now is beyond me. But then again I suppose that person is just an attention seeker in need of a slap.

As far as the numbers have gone in terms of participation in votes, increase in attendances and so on, I think it will be a success to get 10,000 renew. How many have signed up since we've been announced?

It's been said from day one that we can't have our cake and eat it- we can't accept the investment from MyFC without giving something back i.e. team selection. However, if this idea is to work in the long-term, there needs to be a major rethink of the direction of the organisation between now and next season, and well in advance of renewal time so members know exactly what they are paying for.

To be blunt, team selection has to be written out. It could only have ever worked if thousands of people were watching the games, the full 90 minutes. A few hundred at best are making use of this facility, which means any vote on team selection will be swayed by rumours and hearsay on both forums, and those who hold prominent positions or some sort of credibility on the MyFC forum will be able to hugely influence team selection by effectively telling people who to pick. I don't mean they'll behave dictatorially, but those who are unsure who to pick are going to trust the judgement of those members who go to the games. There's nothing bad-natured about this, but we will move from letting an experienced professional do the job, to a few fans- something which totally undermines the ethos of Myfootballclub.

MyFC needs to move from PTT to off-the-pitch areas, where the club have arguably struggled in recent years, and where MyFC would be most effective.

As far as infrastructure goes, we are only a small club. Those at the club do a good job with the resources we have in terms of promoting the club in the town, to schools, and with soccer schools. However, with the swell in the size of the club now MyFC have become involved, we could do so much more. After all, many members have said they see it as a responsibility of MyFC to boost long-term local support. Activities like the proposed 'fun day' on the 12th/13th July, the new kit, the improved training facilities we have, demonstrate where MyFC could really make a difference. Just look at how it managed to sway the FA to get worldwide coverage of last Saturday. That has done so much more for the club than picking the team ever could.

The ideology behind MyFootballClub is a great one; thousands of like-minded people all taking part in something they care in. In theory, it is hard to criticise. But now we've realised the harsh reality of the apathy of the majority of members, and the difficulties in turning great ideas into working systems, we need to reassess the direction of it all.

As I said before, the Footie Manager members are p!ssed at Liam for winning a trophy without their interference. Sack Liam and put a hand picked puppet at the helm!
