Was surprised that the attendance was only about 2,000 higher than the Trophy Final, especially as the Exeter end looked to have a decent crowd.

I was also surprised to see that they had the middle tier of the stadium whereas our second batch of tickets was for the top tier.

On another note, we might mutter about glory hunting supporters, but what about the fans following Pompey? Suddenly the whole city & more wanted to be part of the parade - 200,000 when their current ground only holds 20,600 and even their proposed newground only has acapacity of 36,000

Alan - their ground might 'only' hold 20,600... But with an AVERAGE home gate of 19,914 I would safely say they fill it for the majority of games. Also Pompey is one of the few cities where you notice by their absence other premier team shirts... Very few Liverpool, Man U, Chelski etc... Not 'glory-hunters', more a city proud of their club!

Last season I think it was we were away at some Northern hole. While at the services a coach full of supporters from another team turned up. It was the Manchester United Supporters coach Portsmouth branch. Amongst all the United shirts stepped off one fellow in a blue shirt, he was a Pompy fan who must have borrowed a lift. Never seen anything like it.

Success for a Club actually run by their Supporters' Trust is always good news. Apparently their playing budget was considerably less this season than many had believed it to be. The Club has been concentrating on repaying manageable debts which had been incured after coming out of their CVA. If Tisdale can keep the Grecians in the FL and in a respectable position his services may eventually be required elsewhere. For now though with no previous FL managerial experience, as long as Exeter want to keep him, his job looks to be relatively secure.
