Big decisions to be made.

The trophy win has put Liams profile up with the best managers in non league, akinde, long and mcphee, are attracting the attention of other clubs. How are we going to keep them happy.

I think most of the money from the trophy should be given to liam and told to spend it on adding to and improving the squad, so that its capable of winning the league and keeping us in div 2.Weve got the local community interested in the club, but we need to be at the top of the league to get them through the turnstiles in high numbers. This money has come from an unexpected source, the club must not waste it.

In a short space of time we have become a top non league club, we must aim for promotion, otherwise this time next year liam and the boys may be gone.

True the money must not be wasted but the Club needs to build on the local interest generated by the FA Trophy win.

The squad Liam has assembled is ready to move onto the next level. Rushden have signed 2 proven strikers in Clare and Phillips - the Fleet need to be competing for these type of players.

There have been a couple of posts on here urging caution about spending the money wisely. To the contrary, the Fleet now have the attention of 20,000 locals, MYFC bankrolling it, a first team XI not far short of play-off potential, a new stadium potentially on the horizon and a sizeable cheque from the FA Trophy success. Now is the time to gamble - spend some of this money and move the Club onto the next level.

Agreed - we can't afford to stand still; we'll never get anywhere - we have to take that chance and spend some money taking the squad to the next level and to show Liam we're serious, else we might just lose him

In a short space of time? I suppose if you ignore the Histoty of Gravesend and Northfleet, and just count Ebbsfleet.....Yep it is a short time!
Liam and the boys may be gone?
Is that meant to mean they will leave, or be fired?

In 47years of following the fortunes of the fleet i dont think ive seen a better manager or team than the one we have now.Ebbsfleet fc is now a high profile non league football club, its had local, national and international media coverage like never before. We need to make the most of this and push for league status.I wont forget G&Ns history, but thats what it is, history.Long live the fleet.

IF there is any transfer money made available, then this will be a new test for Liam. We've seen how well he does on a budget of next to nothing- will he be just as, if not more successful, if allowed to spend a little more on players? Or will he get Alan Curbishley syndrome and not know how to actually spend money once it comes his way?

I have to admit to being a little concerned at the clubs policy of only one year contracts, and especially at the obvious frustration being felt by Liam about it.

Surely now is the time for the board to start being more proactive, as I feel we must make a real committment to promotion.

The lead must come from the board and their willingness to supply Liam with the money to do the job.

Otherwise if Liams' burning ambition to gain football league is not matched by the club he will seek pastures new.

Not necessarily the club thats at fault - players who think they can get something "better" at some point, dont want to sign anything other than a 1 year contract, especially if they are decent players within the Ebbsfleet team

In most cases, if they are that good, the contract would be renewed after 1 year, yet the players still have the opportunity to find a club at a higher level - an example of this being Charlie Mac - had Southend not come for him, its almost certain he'd have got another contract with us.

I think he may have gone to Gillingham if Southend hadn't wanted him - he may still do so:
