Rushden appear to be another of these ex-leaugue but now 'Established Conference Clubs'. Being a non-league fan I do like to see high and mighty league sides become stuck in the Conference while 'traditional' non-league sides such as Morecambe, Aldershot and Dagenham replace them in the league.

rushden are non league. Remember them from our doc marten league days, still have the programmes I think, injection of cash and new stadium from mr doc marten, cash goes, they go down two leagues. Seeing Exeter down here for another season or two though, that would make me laugh a lot. Clare must have had nearly as many clubs as Lee Elam.

Definately overweight, if he wasn't a mercenary that demanded a shed load of cash, I would have him here, holds the ball up well, links play and has a natural finish. Kind of similar to the overweight, but P/T David McNiven, both of whom can score a lot of goals at this level.

I do wonder if you obtain a higher profile type of player, you expect lots and are inclined to get disappointed more, where as Liam has put together a team of players. that play as a team, and because of that, we getting a club with a higher profile rather than individuals, except maybe at the moment for Chris Mcphee.

In saying all that, do higher profile player bring in larger crowds? as fans like to see them play!

Defintely 'non-league'

Remember them as two clubs - Irthlingborough Diamonds and Rushden Town, both obscure little clubs that played in something equivalent to the Kent League, or maybe the next level up at the time.

Joined together when their 'sugar daddy' invested a fortune (can't remember his name but I believe he owned the company famous for Doctor Martens boots), and like the majority of these situations it all went pear shaped and they tumbled down into the Conference.

Looks almost the last throw of the dice to regain league status?

With only 1 league goal all season, it hasn't been his best year.

Yes please, sign me up for that one

Give the current squad Charlie MacDonald and we would be a play off team

Not sure if it will happen though

Why would some be against it? Tea hut brigade, yeah charlie was crap, didnt score 40 goals like Ronaldo you know. I would go in for that, with Charlie in our team from this season, definately top 5, well with a bit of defensive cover too I reckon. We also definately need to try and keep hold of Bostwick, what a player, does the ugly stuff so well.

If Southend picked up his wage bill, great. If not I don't believe we can afford to risk someone so injury prone.
