Dorking, Dorking, Dorking.

Not everyone hates Bookham Fc, Tefs, not even "Dorking" folk, some will even play for them.

Bookham are succeeding at Dorkings expense, one exceptionally good season for Bookham next year and one more exceptionally bad one for Dorking and Bookham are Ryman and Dorking are intermediate.

Not going to happen?

Did anyone think two years ago we would be where we are now?

Leeds Utd? Portsmouth? Isnt it, hhmmm?

We are not succeeding at Dorkings expense we are succeeding due to the hard work by our players and the management team we have, not because of what any other team do.

Do you expect us to go out and lose so Dorking are above us ......er....I dont think so.

The players who play for Bookham do so because they want to not because they are ex Dorking players or what ever team.

I will not comment on Dorking because they are not my team and all the ex Dorking players (3 of them) joined us because they wanted too, we did not approach them at Dorking or any other club.

And yes that was a HUGE bite !!!!!

You are succeeding due to your own efforts yes, Teffs, and you must admit also with the help of the groundshare.

But Dorking are suffering because of it, and the gap will probably get bigger.

to the rest of the world! :-

I expect Dorking to be somewhere nearer Horsham's level, not below Horsham YMCA, to be competing with Leatherhead, not losing to Bookham, and to be playing Redhill not South Park. Is that an unreasonable viewpoint? Am I living in the past?

Ive said it before, if you are a player willing and able to train and play in the Dorking area where are you going to go?

How are Dorking going to attract and keep players able to get Dorking promoted next year?

you can all take that as more criticism if you want but they are honest questions.

Not to name names but the u18 players who played for the 1st team late this year will they be playing for the side start of next season?

Is the 1st division the sort of division they can compete and win in?

Questions designed to create debate, to get informed answers.

This is a more sh1t strirring comment, are the ccl going to change the rule that says ground shares cant be permanent and clubs must have plans in place for their own ground?

Guildford off to share with Woking? Wrong. They sold their ground, messed up Dorking, battled through lower levels , the spectrum is their ground now.

Bookham sharing with Dorking? wrong. Why should Dorking be able to decide who can get out of Div1? They could have agreed to share with South Park, or Bookham or Westfield. Do Dorking have reserve and youth sides 8-18? Do Bookham?

Epsom at Banstead. Wrong. OK for a short term but how long since their ground was sold? Banstead deciding which local club can stay or get to at that level.

Banstead, do they have reserves and youth sides 8-18 ? Do Epsom?

seems to me the way forward is to have your own ground, 1st team, reserves, youth 8-18, not groundsharing.

If your club has had the chance to do that have they taken it?

If not why not?

If you have your own ground (rented or not),:-

Is the money coming in from groundsharing that good you can't afford not to take it?

Is the lure of playing one division higher that tempting?

How are Bookham using Dorkings groud affecting Dorking in any way on the pitch?
When I was speaking with the Bookham manager about this thread in the pub last night he explained that of the 3 players he has that signed directly from Dorking he said that 2 could not get in the side and only 1 that they wanted to stay.
It looks as if you are just trying to sh1t stir to try to drive a wedge between the 2 teams.
I don't think that Inter and AC Milan have a problem sharing.

No one is accusing Bookham of pinching players. If anyone wants to play for Dorking or Bookham its up to them and the clubs. League tables would show Bookham are doing better out of the two.

Inter and AC? apart from the odd death it works.

You ask how Bookham using Dorkings ground effects Dorking on the pitch?

For one it stops Dorking having a reserve side. I think that had a huge negative effect last season.

Are you sure everyone would be playing for Bookham if Bookham were in div 1 and playing at the Chrystie rec?

The old Bookham players would Im sure but being a coco prem club at Meadowbank has helped Bookham attract better players.

I moan about where the club is now but I do put in some constructive ideas about the way to improve.

You may have noticed I was a tad critical of the board but I spoke with them towards the end of the season and I promised not to slag them off again. They listened to me and realised I'm not the son of satan. The board won the court case, well done to them, we move on.

It is precisely because I don't want the club to fail that I bang on about it. Look at some of the reasons the two clubs you mention are in trouble and you might see why I am concerned about Dorking FC.

Currently it seems to me a reserve side would benefit Dorking, why haven't we got one, can we do anything to help? Not so controversial really.

I will be honest Im against the Bookham groundshare, they have done better than Dorking out of it.
I don't wish Bookham to fail either but I don't want them to succeed at Dorking's expense.

Nobody at Dorking wants Bookham to fail either.

As I stated earlier, and this will be for the last time for anyone who may seem fit to try and drive a wedge between the two clubs. - The relationship with Bookham is far more than just a business/sport arrangement !

you cant hide the fact Dorking finished bottom, and unless things change the club will keep going downhill.

It needs a first team, reserves, youth 8-18 and that cant happen with Bookham groundsharing unless the two clubs use both facilities.

Thats one step away from Bookham and Dorking united

oh dearie me.
