,Pre-Season in Scotland?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just thought I'd come in and give a quick bit of information. I've been asked to look into a small pre-season tour of Scotland and I'm currently awaiting contact from Annan Athletic to let me know whether Ebbsfleet will be entering their pre-season tournament. I'll keep you all posted.

Thanks

Looks like Ebbsfleet United will be in either the Annan Tournament or the East Kilbride Tournament. Gretna's demotion to division three has heightened the possibility of it being the Annan Tournament, which would be the better of the two options.

The Annan Tournament would see Annan Athletic, Stranraer, Workington AFC and ourselves playing in a mini-tournament on the weekend of the 19th of July. Annan's ground is very impressive, holds around 4,500.

The East Kilbride Tournament would be at East Kilbride's ground, they're a Scottish Junior side. Stirling Albion are also in the Tournament, not sure of the 3rd team but out slot is being reserved whilst the Gretna situation gets cleared up.

When would this happen? Considering we have matches on 12th July at Home to Charlton, Braintree Away on 23rd July and Cray Away on 26th July.

Has the cost been considered? Would the team want to travel all that way just for a little tournament in Scotland?

I think the Scottish MyFC members want to see a game? grin

The Club could use the PASE team, they have done it before!

I believe the chain of events were that Liam had a discussion with Will and Will then came to me to get it all arranged, the matches that is. I wouldn't like to see us use the PASE team for this, if they did then we'd be aswell going with the East Kilbride Tournament.

It's no more a little tournament than the Kent Cup or playing local clubs for a fitness kickabout, no offence intended.

I'm not against the Tournament............But it will deprive the majority of Fleet fans from seeing their team pre-season, just to let a few MYfc members see what they think they own!
