Also with regards to Halifax, if they do not fold would it just not make more sense to put them in the Unibond North Division one as a 21st placed team? Otherwise there will be a whole set of upheaval with teams being moved around again?

Received from the Southern League this morning:

"Dear Club Secretary/Chairman,

Attached are the Club Allocations for Steps 1 to 4 of the National League System for Season 2008/09. These were the recommendations from the Alliance Committee and were confirmed on Wednesday 14th May, by the Leagues Committee. In arriving at these allocations it has been assumed that Halifax Town FC have been expelled from the Football Conference. This has led to Altrincham FC, Hucknall Town FC, Borehamwood FC and Slough Town FC being reprieved from relegation at their respective levels. This situation has NOT been confirmed and may be subject to change. We will obviously make every effort to advise you of any subsequent changes to the Halifax Town situation. As in previous years there may well be other changes forced upon us and these will be dealt with accordingly.

With regard to clubs relegated from Step 4 to Step 5, the recommendations from the Steps 5/6 Focus Group have been confirmed today by the Leagues Committee as follows:-

Alsager Town FC - North West Counties League

Bridlington Town FC

I'm sure you will look forward to the massive away support Cheshunt, Great Wakering Rovers, Tilbury and Leyton will bring to your club. Stay clear of the burgers at Aveley, wouldn't want you to become ill.

Would we want to be in the Essex league? God no. It was bad enough in Div1N a few seasons ago when there were 8 or 9 trips.

And on the upside, you might not finish bottom of the attendances next season.... well only maybe

Too right I'm happy, and can appreciate why Warren and Gary might not be!! Cirencester and North Leigh both 30 minutes away. Cinderford 25 miles, but can gurantee will be at that one as 15 mins walk from Megan's mum, so leave wife and youngest, me and Rowan to game. Bishops Cleeve, what can I say, 5 minutes drive, I live just south of racecourse, their ground just on north side. In fact their ground is just down road from the ground used by the team I help run. So to my curry mates, Maheks it is then!! If fixtures pan out ok, and lges don't change again, you could get up early for a pint at my club first!

I know im being negative but relegation is looking more likely now in the sense that it looks likely that halifax as a club will survive and being that the ground is owned by the council and safe they will not play lower than unibond one.

On the positive it wouldnt be nice to get a reprieve on the back of halifaxs misfortune conference to level 5 in one season is a bit much. Wish there was another way.

If we do take halifaxs place it might be nice to give a supporters donation to their club in support as a gesture of goodwill.

Yeah, I suspect they would do that.

Halifax have been expelled from the conference and there is no room for them in Unibond Premier. The highest level they will play Unibond 1, or if they have to go down the Supporters Trust route perhaps Step 5 or 6 like Scarborough will be more likely.

I hope your right for our sake but i think the choice is either them in the unibond and us getting relegated and vice versa, i dont think the fa have plans to extend the unibond to 22 teams till next season, this was decided last year and they arent likely to change their mind.
I think despite our joy yesterday we have to prepare ourselves forthe worst.

Guest Malcolm & Sandra

You always seem more interested in your attendances rather than how your team performed. We thoroughly enjoyed a succesful season at the Boro with a comfortable league position good cup runs and a league cup to be proud of. Someone stated on your website before this was a micky mouse cup, but was it not an equal Ryman League micky mouse cup that you all went quite potty about winning a few years ago. Glad that you have got something to celebrate this season getting reinstated back in the league at someone elses mis-fortune.

You are getting 200 gates not 2000.

Please grow up and get a life.
