Club Finance?...

Recommended Posts

Our success in the Trophy was great and obviously generated money we didn't expect at the start of the 2007/08 campaign.

Let's enjoy the money however, it needs to be spent wisely so I don't think fans should expect a massive increase in the players budget.

All too often as has been seen elsewhere Clubs with 'cash to flash' one season find themselves 'on their uppers' the next, because they have not spent wisely. I and I am sure many others would prefer that the Club plots a steady sustainable course towards our goal of football league status.

I don't suppose the cheque from Wembley plc or the FA Ltd is in the post yet. No doubt we won't see any money until after the new season has started, if the FA's previous financial dealings are anything to go by.

When it does finally arrive, I would be happier to see it clearing the club's debts, and use Will's money to pay for new players. That way MYFC won't have a claim to saving the club from financial ruin.

But all those funds are club funds anyway. What's the difference which pocket it came out of? Ignore the MyFC fans who want to claim glory for "saving the club." The MyFC members who will be here for the long run don't care about that sort of thing. They -- like you -- just want the club to be successful financially and on the pitch. I personally look forward to the first annual renewal. That's when the troublemakers will disappear as they don't renew. I suspect we'll have a large enough core membership to sustain us through that transition. Remember that only 18,000 members existed when the choice of club was announced. That means another 12,000 joined after they knew it was to be EUFC. If we keep most of that 12,000 and a decent percentage of the original 18,000, we'll make it through the first transitional period. Let's keep signing up new and especially local members to guarantee financial stability for the club for the long run.

Agree with Robert said in the post below yours Gary. We should ignore the "Your club would be dead without ours" lot on MyFC, we should start up the "Your website would have been dead without our club", if they didn't buy us they would have bought Halifax.

Hi , I'm new here.

I've just registered. I'm from Gibraltar and also MYFC member since August/07. I am a Fleet supporter and my only aim is to contribute towards the success of EUFC as much as possible.

I can't understand why there seems to be an issue between old and new supporters. We should try and work together, most my friends in the myfc website are local supporters in any case. I fail to understand why there seems to be an element of mistrust

or an issue of different agendas amonsgt a small minority on both sides. The local supporters are and will always be the soul of this club. regards .

PTT mate.. Doesn't go down well with me, and I think that goes for most of the locals.. it makes us look a joke.
Defeat that and we will be 1 big happy family.

Quite a lot of members have already signed up and paid for more than one year's membership. That has to help.
