Do you support another club as well as slough ?

Recommended Posts

Getting bored with all these anons and wind ups and waiting to find out what league we are in.

Just wondered if many slough supporters support another club

as well as slough or supported a club before slough.

And has there ever been a conflict over who to watch when they

are playing the same time. Some people seem to support one

club their whole life while others start out supporting some

premiership side only to get fed up with all the sleaze etc

and start to support alocal non-league side.

Tottenham Hotspur but other than the carling cup this season has been more annoying than Slough going down again. least Slough have a lot of positivity for next season i dont feel that with Spurs for some reason

Great Eckscape do you support Slough then?? lol

Needless to say really for me...followed the Saints for about 10 years or so (I think!)...

...a very disappointing season, hopefully if we get a reprieve I will have gone from potential double relegation to none at all! Fortunately there is an air of optimism around here, hopefully there will be at Saints too soon.

Wouldn't miss a Rebels game to watch the Saints though, if I want to go to Saints I have to plan it around the Rebels fixtures which I am not going to.

Chris, I always thought you supported Wycombe Wanderers as your second club!!

For me its Cardiff City---and I've got two tickets for the final (thanks Roger).

Now for a fundraising thought. The club can get tickets for the final if they apply early. The tickets could be raffled--would appeal to both home and away fans, particularly to anyone whose second team were still in the FA cup when the raffle started, but would also appeal to most fans due to our proximity to Wembley. There seem to be enough Arsenal, Liverpool Chelsea and Man U supporters around to ensure decent sales in the raffle, provided a Carlisle v. Sunderland final is avoided.

Other teams I see on a fairly regular basis, if can't get back to Slough are Bishop's Cleeve (Southern Lge - Midland Division) and Barmouth & Dyffren (Gwynedd Lge)

I'm Chelsea and Aidan is Fulham. Thanks goodness Fulham avoided relegation this year, dont think Aidan could handle two relegations in one season.

I suppose I had better confess that I also support Horsham since I have been a director of the club for 14 years and chairman of the board for the last few. I have also over the years acquired likings for Barnsley, Exeter City and Frickley Athletic but I guess that amounts to glory hunting.

I kind of follow West Ham but haven't been to Upton Park in approaching 7 years.

There's no contest over who to support, but I have missed a couple of games over the years to watch Fulham and Brentford, when I was meeting friends I hadn't seen in ages. Typical though that one of the games I missed was that rare win at Heybridge two seasons ago!

Wolves season ticket holder, so the Wanderers always come first, but Slough are my second club and have seen more than 250 matches, home & away, since 1993. Must admit that the last 3 years have been rough to stay with it, but here's hoping for a brighter future.

Couple of points on this which Roy has asked me to point out. We can apply for two tickets through the Berks & Bucks FA during a given week. Obviously, there are quite a few applications for tickets so they aren't that easy to come by and it is the discretion of the B&B FA who gets the tickets.

We would not be able to raffle the tickets in any form as this would contravene FA rules and the ticket holders must be named at the time of application.

Whilst it is a good idea in principle, it is not something which could be carried out unfortunately.

I believe in supporting the local team wherever you live, and it's difficult to just swith off allegiance when you leave a place. As a result it's Merthyr Tydfil, Coventry, Southampton and Slough.

I once fooled a bloke I worked with that I was obsessed with the Scottish Second Division. I used to get into work on a Monday complaining about the long drive and muttering "Hardly worth it to see Arbroath 0 Dumbarton 0". I retain a basal level of support for Stranraer, not that I've actually ever been to see them, or in fact gone anywhere near wherever the place is, wherever it is.
