Halifax Go Bust

Recommended Posts

Very, very sad. Wasn't very long ago that they nearly made it back into the Football League.

Gutting for non-league footy they where a big well known club and very disappointing. I watched them not long ago on setanta and they weren't the team that they where when we played them but they could have held there own in that league. Hopefully they can reform furhter down the ladder and then build up and become a good team again.

They're hoping to reform and start again in the Unibond League but might have to go as low as the Northern Counties League if they don't sort out something quickly.

They will be back also a serious question does anyone think Fan owned clubs will be a big thing in the future for example AFC Wimbledon , FC United and AFC Liverpool surely they wont be the last also you have to look at Barca and Real Madrid to see how a fans owned club can be a success. Sorry for changing the subject a bit but I felt that now if Halifax reform it would be owned by the fans or am I wrong

All eyes on Ebbsfleet - the true litmus test.
Also, i'd like to understand a little more of the AFC Telford scenario. Their rise back up thru the leagues has been encouraging.

A last ditch deal may be on the cards

Halifax Town administrators postpone statement due to talks with potential buyer

HALIFAX Town administrators yesterday postponed issuing a statement regarding the club.

It was expected to be put into liquidation following the failure to agree a deal with creditors last Friday.

"Begbies Traynor has decided that it is not appropriate to issue a statement at this time, because discussions are still ongoing with a potential purchaser," said a spokeswoman.

No details of interested parties have been released but the consortium which has been funding the club are still exploring future possibilities.
