MISA

Received my letter from MISA about the AGM on the 12th June in the clubhouse.

I would suggest that all Margate FC fans join the supporters club so that we have a united voice to which we can approach the board.

As a supporters club we should (like our predecessors) support all aspect of Margate Football Club to assist in its future

I agree Frankie.

"As a Supporters Club we should(like our predecessors) support all aspects of Margate football club, to assist in its future".

Not to help support someones personal agenda.

What fans on this forum should do is attend the MISA AGM next month and join.

Make sure you tell as many others fans as possible who do not use the forum to do the same as the supporters group should represent as many of the fans as possible.

We can and should show the board that we are above the petty squbbles that are occuring in the boardroom and that we have the interest of the future of Margate Football Club as our core aim.

Anyone who attends who feel that they can make a difference should attend, join (or rejoin) MISA and stand for the committee in whatever capacity they want, be it chairman , secretary , treasurer, committee member

We must show the board, the club, the council, the fans and the town that we have a club that has in the past and hopefully with our input be in the future something we all can be proud of.

One Voice One Aim

I agree "Frankie 100".

There is definitely one position up for election on the committee. Since Bernie resigned from the position of Chairman it as been filled on a acting basis by Mr Tom Mckenna. If Mr Mckenna wants to stand for election as Chairman then the position he holds at the moment, that of Vice chair is surely open for election. ( though i believe all positions are up for election each year)

I was therefor surprised on receiving the letter from Misa naming the date for the AGM and, inviting me to renew my membership, there was no note inviting applications to enter the race for either or all positions. I hope this is an oversight which can be rectified early enough to allow the time lapse required before the said AGM. We would not want another embarrassment as we had 2 years ago when we had to reconvene the meeting at a later date.

I like Frankie, would hope that we get a good turn out and, that Members turn out in numbers and not only make up the numbers but stand for what ever positions are availible if you think you have something to offer.

Lets get together and build a Margate INDEPENDANT Supporters Association that is representitive of the fans views.

Blueblood you've highlighted INDEPENDANT in capitals. Can you please share with us why you felt the need to! I thought MISA stood for margate independant supporters association.

I think you'll find that Blueblood is referring to the acting Chairman trying to railroad his own agenda through MISA and that he'll determine how & what MISA do regardless of how other elected MISA officers feel. I've heard MISA committee members are having great difficulty in putting through ideas that are not his.

I think Blueblood was wrong in emphasising the word Independent - he should have emphasised the last 'S' in Supporters.

This is Leah, MISA secretary, unfortuantly i have forgot my password for my account! Not for the first time!!

I find some of the comments being made extreamly interesting, especially when they are coming from people who do not sit, or no longer sit, on the misa committee. I wish to take the opportunity now to state that i have always been able to put my own ideas across to all officers with ease. This is the case for all officers. The acting Chairman is not trying to 'railroad his own agenda' of any kind. Believe me, i am not just saying this for the shear hell of it. I can say that no committee member feels any different. Or shall i say, if they do, no comments have been made. I am sadened to see that comments like this are actually being made on behalf of committee members- e.g MYSELF.

MISA have always been committed to supporting margate football club and its supporters. I hope our members agree.

True, i am no longer a member of the MISA committee, but i am a member of MISA and, I handed my renewal personally to Keith Lewis's wife hours after receiving the notice.

I made a mistake when I resigned from the MISA Committee in not going public with my reasons and opening a debate at that time as to the ineffectiveness of the organisation as a SUPPORTERS club.

I will not get into a battle of words as to why i think MISA is ineffective as that would take a few hours to type and more words than i think people have patience to wade through. If any fellow member wants to speak to me on a personal level then i will be only to willing to explain my views.

I assume from the wording of Leah's post that this is an official statement made with the consent of all the committee, formed at a committee meeting to which all members of the said committee were invited and held at a time that it was known that all the said committee members could attend.

In answer to blue's post. Yes i was wrong i should also have highlghted the word SUPPORTER. But do we not all have INDEPENDANT views as well as SUPPORTING the club?.

Now, now blueblood how can MISA be so ineffective when its donated so much money and time to the club. I know how much hard work Leah puts in and hold Tam in the highest regard. By being like this i'd say you are not doing yourself any favours at a time when supporters should be pulling together.

I am not a member of misa (will not give reasons as to why) but, will just ask 1 question.

How much money has Blueblood raised for the club by organising raffles and events for the club and how much support did he recive from the supporters association.

I only arrived in the Margate area in the last year and watched the team last season. If I wanted to join the supporters club committee would need to know how much time it would take up.

For starters how often do they hold committee meetings

What is the main job during the summer months

Why was the supporters club not pushed at home games

Blueblood has raised money for the reserves. Misa raised money for the football club as a whole. I doubt even bluebloods efforts have raised as much as MISA.

Answer these questions.

1) Have you taken out the food sales from misa figures as I am talking about fund raising events.

2) Are you saying that the reserves do not count as part of MFC.

3) Are you decrying the efforts of blueblood.

Finally in conclusion the sponsorship money I gave to MFC last season I will continue to give but it may be directed directly to the reserves in the future.

Spending my time looking through some of the recent postings and came across the following quote concerning a fund raising event

"My only downer on such a good evening was the attitude of the 2 Misa committee members and there female companions when asked for a donation at the gate and, who's comments left those in hear shot open mouthed."

Bearing in mind the comment from eyeball about raising money for the club as a whole that does not look too good.

Also can anyone answer the questions I asked earlier as I am keen to get involved in some way
