Holding our own

Having not seen a vast number of games last season, would one of the more regular supporters give me the benefit of their wisdom?

One of our opponents next season will be Heybridge Swifts who came to Park Lane last October and beat us 5-0 in the Essex Senior Cup.

Now I know that this competition is not always treated with the same commitment as the league and I know that this was relatively early season, but our team comprised a majority of first team regulars.

Based PURELY ON STATISTICS ALONE we will therefore struggle next year. Can you tell me why you don't think that this statement will be correct?

I think you have to look at how we got on in the bigger game against a ryman prem side. We beat Maidstone in the fa Trophy who are a ryman prme side and that was a competition both sides would take seriously.

I think we will be in a comfortable position next season.

having watched a few Ryman Prem sides this season i genuinely dont think the standards are much highier than division 1. i think we will be mid table next season but as long as we are above the bottom 3 i will be happy (oh and 6 points of ricky obviously)

I will settle for a mid table finish!!!!

That will be really positive, actually I am not sure I would want to go into the conference in the next year or two!!
