In an attempt to bring together the two "strands" of this thread (the importance of promotion & how to increase the clubs profile/support) I thought it was worth pointing out that whilst a handfull of long term supporters may feel "left behind", that is hardly an emotion that would be preventing new supporters coming along.

All those potential disillusioned Premiership fans who didn't know there's a football club in Billericay will not care that Braintree, Chelmsford, Bromley etc.. are all now in the BSS as they've probably never heard of them either.

If we were still in the ESL and made it to the Vase Final at Wembly this year how many coaches do you think we'd take? How many new fans would we win over (bearing in kmind how the population has grown since the mid 70's)?

If making the BSS is important for some, fair enough. But I don't believe it to be the "Holy Grail" of the Club's success.
