Stat/Personal Story from Trophy Final

Years ago , before I was even thought off, dad used to take mum to Arsenal home and away. Anyhow , they were 0-0 away at Leicester in a cup replay or something with 2 mins to go , when mum said "hope leicester score so we can have a break from footie". They did and since then , mum has never been allowed to go footie and for big games on TV she is banned to the back room to undertake her hobby of ironing.

 

So yesterday , as I stand by The Bobby Moore statue , my nephew comes up to me (hes 11) and says to me "Ive been to 17 games this season and everytime , Arsenal or Ebbsfleet have won"

 

I had that though and that story of mum and dad going through my head. Thankfully the goodluck continued.

 

He then upset dad who wanst him to be Arsenal and said "This stadium is better the Arsenal" and after the game "Ive decided to follow fleet"

 

 

So next season , expect to see a new face at home games and local away games. And if we loose , just go light with him.

I hope he becomes a lifelong Fleet fan. Unfortunately(and it wasn't for my not trying), neither of my sons did!

Well, i started coming along with my dad and brother, the game after Christmas, and ever since then apart from a few home games I

I was taking a big chance yesterday...every time I've taken my dear lady to see a game, we've lost - yesterday I took her to the match seriously hoping her run had to end some time - and it did! Today I'm much relieved as well as being very, very happy.

 

Think if we'd lost yesterday I'd have left her somewhere in London...

Just directors paul. Maurice looked unbelievebly smart and was telling me a nice little story that I wont publish on here. But just to say , only in nonleague football

My brother-in-law, who has seen perhaps six Fleet gamesin 15 years, has just bought a half-season ticket and enrolled two kids as Junior Fleet members, so we're slowly getting there!

You have to remember Brian that she was born in Dartford so that was a posh night to her. Anyway I treated the duchess today by using my Eurostar 2 for 1 voucher and booking a trip to France for her birthday. The least I could do for ignoring her for the last 6 weeks. Up the Fleet

And on the superstition note, I was worried about going back to England for the final. On my earlier trip, I was there for 4 Fleet games--2 draws, a loss, and a postponement. I was afraid had the Fleet lost again, I'd be banned from Stonebridge Road.
