Keep supporting

To all the fans that came to Wembley but dont normally come to Stonebridge Road, yesterday you had a taste of what it could be like if you come and support your local club more, the more supporters we get, the more income we get, the more income we get, the better players and facilities we get, and this of course leads to more success, more Cup Finals and of course, possible League football. This is our local club and we are on the march. See you at Stonebridge Road next season. Only problem of course is that we only hold about 3000 at our ground, so you may have to come to matches on a rota basis smile See you next season.

Wrong, the people of gravesend dont want to support a bunch of losers, which is what weve been over the years.History tells us our two biggest games were sunderland and aston villa, but we didnt win the games.Great games and great days out. This time its different, we WON, weve got heroes, lots of kids were at wembley,a parade through the town is a great idea, but lets take it further, have a meet the players day in the town centre,a kick about with the players at fleet leisure. The kids cant get to rooney and co, but they can get near to the fleet heroes, once theyve met them a bond will form, they will tell dad to take them to games. Then its down to the manager and players, because weve got to start next season winning our games and being near the top of the division,we mustnt let the kids down, otherwise our futures lost.

You will learn...I hope you don't have to change your name next year to Nohope!......History pal........History!
Everyone seems to forget(not hard seeing the Club Website History space was turned over to MyFC), but the only thing that stopped Gravesend and Northfleet from becoming a League Team years ago was the "old pals act" voting system that turned down the Clubs application to the League! If the persent system was in place then.........We might still be a League Club!
I would hardly call that a Team of Losers!

I think that this win will entice people who were curious about comming down to Stonebridge road to come down for a few games this season...as been said the more supporters we can get into the ground the turn over will be greater and hopefully can turn this club around into the football leauge. It's very well that MYFC memebers have paid their

Hi everyone, what a great day yesterday - a fantastic weekend all in all. Re. getting local people into Stonebridge Road - on MyFC forum, there are plans now to hold an open day on the Sunday after the Charlton friendly - 13 July.

As a MyFC member from 1 August, I can honestly say that I have probably spent at least a thousand pounds so far on getting to home and away matches (from Lancaster), buying merchandise, getting an 11-game ticket etc. I'll risk being a bit controversial here by saying that we have to strike a delicate balance - yes, a lot of MyFC members are prepared to put their money where their mouths are, but they also don't want to lose the essence of what MyFC is all about. Yesterday has given us a fantastic platform - we can all go forward together and hopefully with all our support, after next season we'll be in League 2.

I was there when they won the Southern League Championship............I doubt if you were even born.......Let alone throwing a rattle! wink smile

There wasn't any criticism in my post that I was aware of, just years of realism!

After reading through the posts, and talking to a few people last night even if they were drunk. They all said that after yesterday that they will come to the fleet as its decent football but not premiership price, and that is what need have at the end of the day, most people can afford at least one or two games a season. So if people come for a few games at first, then come more frequently, next thing you know they are a regular supporter! So why don

Its been tried before in one guise or another & people will generally come for the one game and then never be seen again. Better that we work on the ideas that "Hopeful" put forward on another thread - as he says, kids will see these players as heroes and we should get them out to schools/ meet the players sessions - ideally before the schools finish for the summer, although that may not be easy to arrange.

Well half term is coming up, I am sure if everyone worked hard and co-operated (e.g. media, schools etc) we could have a family day out, like we did when Gravesend And Northfleet became Ebbsfleet United. With the players, doing photos with the kids, and I

I would like to think it would bring you more support, but we took 30K to Wembley last year and it made no difference to the crowds the following season, then again we did lose. 20K will come this time and maybe promotion might bring more crowds, but then we have the quandry of would you like to see a good conference side or a lowly league club?

The thing is wherever you are, be it Exeter, Maidstone, Gravesham - you still see more AIG and Samsung shirts than local ones and its all so wrong.
