The DVD's being flogged on that e-bay link are of course bootlegs.

It's just somebody recording it off the telly. Nothing official.

No doubt Sky will be onto them shortly.

 

i know they're bootlegs, no different than asking someone for a vhs of the coverage except i'm paying for it and in this instance i really don't care. if sky, the club, myfc issued a dvd i'd buy them as well, anything to remember the day. i spent so much time trying to get the people around me to stand up and sing i think i missed half the game lol.

If there is not going to be a proper dvd of the game(Which would be a crime to all Fleet fans if there isn't) I would desperately would want a video of it. My friend did record it on Sky Plus trouble is that he no longer has a video player to copy it onto.

Have just had a chat with one or two other Blue Square Premier Club Cameramen whose teams won F.A. Trophy Finals in the past, and they seem to think that Sky will allow club shops to sell DVD's of the whole match (and subsequent celebrations) to supporters as copied from their TV broadcast, thereby earning a profit for the club.

 

Sky do not produce the DVD's themselves though, so basically...if anybody recorded the whole programme on TV (in widescreen and high quality) and has the facility to run off multiple copies and design & print inserts & labels, they can 'sell' them to the club shop, who then sell them on to the supporters.

I would strongly advise somebody (e.g. Jessica ?) to check with Sky first though !

 

What will definitely not be allowed is individuals flogging the TV broadcast as cheap DVD's on e-bay (as is already happening).

 

There is no problem with supporters running off their own DVD's and/or VHS copies from the TV broadcast to pass on to other supporters (as is already happening), as long as they are not selling them online (or down the Pub, etc.) for profit.

 

I didn't set my DVD recorder for the TV broadcast as I thought that Sky would not allow it to be copied for sale in the shop or for inclusion on the end-of-season Review DVD (which I think is still planned ?), and of course I was not allowed to film at Wembley. (Not that I can compete with Sky !).

Perhaps Sky would allow MYFC to sell the Trophy Final DVD @their online shop?

 

The demand amongst not only Fleet Supporters but MYFC members for this seems to be quite high.

 

From a MYFC marketing perspective, could they not send out free copies of the Trophy final to all its members? After all, there seem to be a few concerns about how many people will renew their membership come the second year. Something like this might help to pursuade more of its members, especially oversea's to sign up for that all-important second year.

 

A free Trophy DVD, featuring the full SKY broadcast could also be inserted into every copy of the Kent Messenger and The Reporter just prior to the start of next season to remind the Gravesham locals what a great day they all had @Wembley.

 

MYFC have more than enough money to be able to do something like this - even if it cost 20K to get all the DVD's printed and distributed.

....and, to be fair ( ha !) what did you expect Helen C to say ? She is a Torquay fan and was gutted....as anyone of us would have been if roles had been reversed. However, in the interest of fair play and impartiality....they should have had Lord Chas or Kenny giving opinions from our side of the fence as well!!

I wondered why they KEPT on going back to her though. Presenting Soccer AM doesn't make her important. And then they put her in a box at the top of the screen when we are on a break on the pitch. doh

As I said, in the interest of impartiality, they should have had someone from our side also.....but what does it matter ? Her team lost & my ( and your ) team won !! ( awaits being told off by KMJ for not showing respect to Torquay !! )

I'd love the whole Trophy run on one disc.

I don't have any footage of Away to Dorchester...don't think they had a cameraman ?, but either myself or the MyFC Web Team have got footage of all the other ties (Home and Away).

All editing & production of EUFC DVD's has now been taken out of my hands anyway.
The MyFC Web Team deal with that side of things, but I'm sure they have got plans to do something.

There are definitely no issues regarding rights to put all the Trophy matches up to the Final on a DVD to sell to supporters, that's for sure...and I don't think there will be a problem adding Sky's footage to it either.
As I said earlier though, this should definitely be checked with somebody at Sky first.
