agree, what a great day, the best in fleet history.

great game, good beers, much sun.

spoilt only by the fight that broke out in the punch and judy in cov gdn, and the idiot with spider webs tattos on his elbows (makes him hard) starting on two torquay fans outside the pub between embankment and charing x. at least his friend had the sense to apologise for his actions.

but other than these buffons, we represented ebbsfleet well from what i saw and heard!

well done everyone, players and fans!

As my wife would tell you, pub crawls & footie excursions I can organise with the military precision of Alexander the Great. Anything else & you'd be better off hiring the services of David Blunkett's latest dog.

Thought I was going to well up on a couple of occasions, thinking of my mum & dad who would so loved to have had that experience in all the years they followed the Fleet, but apart from going absolutely ape when Chris scored, I think I managed not to make a fool of myself - & that was in the 1st half when I was surrounded by people I didn't know, anyway.

What a day, indeed.

One reason to look forward to summer.....no Allstars on TV....even Mrs Hirsty starts shouting at the TV now when he appears !! I won't tell you what she says as I may get banned from this forum !!

Cheers,

Just watched the game again, the setup for McPhee's goal by Akinde was just superb. That ball looked like it was going to roll of the pitch but he chased it, tackled, won the ball and produced the perfect cross. He is growing all the time in ability, such an exciting player!

Another highlight of yesterday was dancing to 'Ecuador' with Kenny in the club later on. He has some interesting moves! grin

I could see you getting just a wee bit emotional walking up Olympic Way mate! But that's what occasions like this are for. To remember, to cherish and to celebrate. Many more of 'em!

Great game, great day out. Always said we would win it, even after the penalty miss.

After shamefully having lost some love of the club through the name change and MyFC business, I have to say that this game has helped remind me how much I love the club, and after having only seen a handful of other games this season realised how much I miss going.

Look forward to getting back to some regular games next season.

some lasting memories from yestersday include: the winning goal, hurting my leg celebrating, Luke Moore supposedly "out-muscling" the torquay player and giving up a free kick rather then winning one and of course, my bolognese pie lol

the meat pie was shocking, bolognese sauce in a pastry case does not constitute a homemade beef steak pie! all part of the wembley experience, love the quote from gordon's brother "you don't get the whole experience if you dont buy some of the overpriced tat on offer." wise words...

What an awful decision that was by the ref - clear shoulder to shoulder & then getting hauled down yet free kick to Torquay & Moore was the one booked for complaining!!

Well what can I say about the day other than it went absolutely perfect(Barring the penalty of course). Just wished that I could of celebrated in Gravesend for a while after the game. But I had such a bad headache I just wanted to get home a sleep it off.

It was amazing that we got all or damn near all to join in with the Mexican Wave^^

What a great day - I had phone calls all the way through from a MyFC member in Sydney and one in the USA. They were just as excited as we were! The goal was fantastic, McPhee deserved it and they all played so well and kept their nerve on the big occasion.
