Harry - you should know better than suggesting that scrapping PTT is in the best interests of the club at the moment. A lot of people that joined MyFC didn't do it to PTT and some others have changed their mind. If PTT was scrapped and MyFC only lost a couple of hundred members then there would be no problem. But if PTT is scrapped and we lose thousands of members as a result then the club will suffer because we will not have the funds at this point in time to maintain the current level of expenditure.

I also think this comment

is also inappropriate - it does nothing more than provide ammunition to those on MyFC who are intent on attacking Will Brooks because PTT isn't already a reality. And in my conversations with Will Brooks he never once suggested that this was his view.

Finally - just because it doesn't happen elsewhere, does not mean it's a stupid idea. There are many clubs in many sports that pick their team by committee (which is in effect what MyFC is proposing). The reason why football clubs actually moved many years ago, to the team being picked by a single manager was to allow an individual owner exercise more control over the club and the team. Signing up one person and driving away ten is not an approach that is in the best interests of the club at this point in time.

Who the bl**dy hell do you think you are Wah, Wah, coming onto our free and independant forum telling us (even Harry) what we should and shouldn't be posting. Go back to your secret masonic like little forum, where you can be Will's mouthpiece to your hearts content. You can act like Mugabe there, but bug off with thoughts like that here!!
Carry on posting Paul.

6 months mate, 6 months.

Funnily enough it was 6 months ago that all the farce started.

But that's the point Harry, what authority do you or me or anyone else have to tell the members it's not going to happen. I didn't join MyFC to PTT and it wouldn't bother me if it didn't happen, but I am in favour of it happening as this was the basis on which MyFC is established and, personally, I wouldn't be surprised if it worked well. Manoeuvring to prevent it is not a productive tactic. It would be much better to implement it and see what happens. If it doesn't work then people will realsie the need to change and will support it.

As for 1,600 at home games - it would be an improvement but would not be sufficient to keep the club afloat without income from MyFC.

Jeff you were far too busy playing football to take any photos. Plenty of other people did and I was the only one with an Irish flag at the party (the one with Opinal on it).

Actually 5ft 9in with short greying hair, a little chubby and wore a red t-shirt and dark trousers. Hate suits and never wear them.

All joking aside though, thanks.

It's called an opinion mate. At this stage we don't know which way the whole thing will go, it could go either way and MyFC may never pick the team.

Up until the mid-1960s the Irish international team was selected by a committee.

In Gaelic football and hurling county teams are still selected by a committee elected by delegates from local clubs. The committee regularly receives input from club members and have to report back to delegate meetings on their selections.

So who was this individual owner who took over the Irish team?

Actually - I suspect that it is exactly the same side that the members of MyFC did on the voluntary team selector. The only two positions that would have been an issue were Ricketts or Hawkins and Chukki or Moore.

PTT will happen by the start of next season. No matter how much wishful thinking you have will not prevent it.

WRONG!!

1,600 home attendance is 433 more than the average home attendance since November. This is worth about

But that's one specific example (and in one specific country) - if we're talking the 'norm', the well-trodden path, team selection by committee, certainly in English football, was not the way of things.

Some strange logic there Wah, Wah. Exactly the same side apart from 20% of the outfield players.
Glad MYFC didn't pick the final side!!

Right throughout the 19th century players picked themselves as kids playing the school yeard still do. Some of the early teams emerged from public schools but most emerged from works teams in factories, shipyards, railways yards etc. Man Utd were an example. Formed in 1878 as the works team of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway in the Newton Heath depot. The club (including the team) was run by committee until 1892 when AH Albut was appointed full-time secretary. His job was to run the club and coach the team with continuing input from the club committee. In 1902 the club nearly went bankrupt and was saved when taken over by JH Davies who was managing director of Manchester Breweries. Davies appointed J Earnest Mangnell as club secretary in 1903 and began the process of one man having direct control over the team but it wasn't until 1914 that Jack Robson was appointed 'manager'.

It's like trying to teach a goldfish how to read, Hirsty. He just doesn't get it. Never will.

It is the ONE weakness of the MYFC thing, and it is the single factor that divides "them and us" and stops us being "we".Take out the pick the team crap, and we really do have a genuine chance to get into the play offs.
