Exactly what I was thinking, Les. The publicity surrounding the Trophy might bring in some more members to get us through the first year's transition. Either way, it was a fantastic weekend.

Looking at the no. of seats sold by the club there are 16000 local people interested enough to spend plenty of cash on a day out supporting the club, but whom are yet to sign up to MYFC.

Tap into that and the clubs in safe hands.

i know he is not the biggest supporter of MYFC, but Martin Samuel in the Times today, said about a rosy future for Ebbsfleet if a club is owned by the fans, but team picked by the Manager. Then that could be a perfect scenario, and maybe the MYFC management including Will Brooks are coming round to that idea.
I tend to agree with him, and one day if the pick the team bit is dropped I will sign up as well, until that day I wont.
And I am sure a lot of other local fans would as well and start spreading the word locally.

Imagine it 15,000 to 20,000 local folk being involved in the club.

Well for me I'd love all three of you to sign up, you're all important contributors to this board and I like reading you opinions.

The more we bang on about not wanting to PTT then the more they'll drop the idea.

Tonight one of their members was on the radio saying the PTT idea is what attracted them but now he's losing interest in the idea and only has an interest in the club. That comment alone gave me such a good feeling.

If we had more of you lot joining in then more of them might come round to the idea.

Like the others, I haven't joined MYFC because of the PTT idea, but I'm coming round to the idea of joining mainly for the idea of watching the games on my PC...I'm also warming to some of the members of MYFC - some do seem pretty decent characters.

Think I might just be a MYFC member by the beginning of next season.

Harry - you should know better than suggesting that scrapping PTT is in the best interests of the club at the moment. A lot of people that joined MyFC didn't do it to PTT and some others have changed their mind. If PTT was scrapped and MyFC only lost a couple of hundred members then there would be no problem. But if PTT is scrapped and we lose thousands of members as a result then the club will suffer because we will not have the funds at this point in time to maintain the current level of expenditure.

I also think this comment

is also inappropriate - it does nothing more than provide ammunition to those on MyFC who are intent on attacking Will Brooks because PTT isn't already a reality. And in my conversations with Will Brooks he never once suggested that this was his view.

Finally - just because it doesn't happen elsewhere, does not mean it's a stupid idea. There are many clubs in many sports that pick their team by committee (which is in effect what MyFC is proposing). The reason why football clubs actually moved many years ago, to the team being picked by a single manager was to allow an individual owner exercise more control over the club and the team. Signing up one person and driving away ten is not an approach that is in the best interests of the club at this point in time.

They're currently playing a very good game, even if the majority of the voters say "yes, we want to pick the team" then it still only equates to about 8% of the overall membership. They see this as such an important issue that they won't allow it to happen with such a small number of people behind the idea.

So many people have said to me that they've either changed their opinions on PTT and no longer want to or never had the interest in the first place.

I know what you opinions are about this but feel that if you were to meet some of these people you'd realise they're human.

I'm quite prepared to be proved wrong... but I've never heard of this before.

To all of you who have said you can't join until the PTT is sorted (changed, abolished, etc.), I understand entirely and respect your decision. I just hope that at some point we'll see you in MyFC as well, because I believe that when the society also has a great swell of local support, MyFC will have become stable and a long-term reality. In the meantime, I hope we can continue working together as we've seen recently and not let the little stuff get in the way. (I'm not suggesting PTT is "little stuff," either. I know it's a major stumbling block that MyFC has to sort out soon.)

Still enjoying the afterglow from Saturday.

Well done to the fleet

Been to quiet a few football games in my life, been a spurs fan (ive not seen much) frown along with the fleet, born and breed gravesend, 30 sec walk from the ground, i get down there quite a lot. And the fleet at wembley? that was by far the best game ive ever been to, was quite emotional at the end, great game, will be remembered forever.

Will add a few pics of the day.

I was wondering this also.

Now seeing how I never got to met you Dom, which I did want to do as I quite like you, I will have to sort of settle for second best and guess.

I would your about 5 foot 11 inches? Bald head, by choice, and clean shaven. You're quite chubby and have a penchant for jeans an t-shirt, especially when at football. Suits were never meant for football. Would you go to a football match in a suit even if you were invited as a guest?
