WELL DONE EBBSFLEET UNITED.

Recommended Posts

Listened to the commentary and coverage on Radio Kent on the internet here in Singapore.

It was a great radio coverage and brought home the atmosphere of it all to perfection.

Until this season Fleet had hardly got past the first round of the Trophy and it was only those FA Cup runs we had to get excited about.

As someone who has followed the club since 1959 and had seen the Sunderland match in 62-63, as well as all the other games on the way like Exeter and Wycombe etc this was a great thrill.

It makes up for all those heavy defeats by clubs like Headington, later Oxford United, Hereford and other giants of the southern league and even Bexleyheath and Welling!

The dismal days of the old Southern League lower division and visits to Tunbridge Wells and co are thankfully a distant memory.

Was Steve Portway there BTW?!

:-))

Yes, Paul, I also remember the "very lean years", the "yo-yo years" of relegations and promotions, since 1958. The years when the players almost outnumbered the crowds.

The Winning of the Southern League Championship, the Sunderland match, the trip to Aston Villa, being amongst the better moments.

Being beaten by Dartford always being a bitter pill to swallow.

Now the Fleet have done something Dartford failed to do...........Won the Trophy! drinkies

Fantastic day for you , you took the game to Torquay and came out winners , i think there was about 25 Margate fans from what i have read on our site went up today to give you the surport you needed . Out of the 41000 crowd you had about 25000 of it , Well done again great to see a Victorious side and from kent win at Wembley .

it was brilliant , saw one guy drapped in an american flag crying at the end with happyness , thats it in a nutshell for me, if supporting a team takes you cross continents and reduces you to that state, then i think that has put to bed the argument about new and old supporters, we all came of age as Ebbsfleet fans today, i was very proud of everyone - period.

So onwoulds together - its the only way to go.

The most fantastic day, makes the cold Tuesday nights worth it.

It was lovely to see so many people there, a lot of them like us supporters of another team (although we have managed to make over half Ebbsfleet home games this season) and let's hope this makes the attendance a bit higher next season.

One of the best days ever.

PS I said to my husband and son yesterday, the last time we were at a very important match with a team in red and white playing a team in yellow, the red and whites won, so it was a good omen. (Orient beating Oxford 6 May 2006 to gain promotion and dump Oxford out of the league).
