Anyone else getting emotional?

Recommended Posts

A regular supporter mate of mine can't see it. He can't see anything in football (or sport for that matter) to get emotional about.

Whereas I was really emotional when we won the semi - lump in throat (and yes moist eyes etc). Lord knows what I will be like on Saturday. I got quite moved just hearing on Radio Kent this morning about the lads picking thier suits up today. What am I going to be like on Saturday?

Tell me I am not alone or is my mate right and I am just a big wuss?

I was saying this to Jessica at last nights PASE game. Every time I hear an interview on RK or when they keep replaying Lord Chas's reactions at Aldershot it brings a lump to my throat. I can't even listen to Here come the Fleet at the moment. I have come to realise at the tender age of 40 that Kleenex tissues can also be used to dry your eyes. Up the Fleet.

Well I am sitting here in my office in Cardiff with my foam hand on top of my PC and proud of it.

travelling up tomorrow and even my brother Tony who is a Gills season ticket holder is coming he wants to see some proper football being played.

I had tears in my eyes when at Villa Park will be a total mess come Saturday

For me Gary, win or lose it will be worth it, just grateful for the lads giving us tinpot supporters, the oppertunity to go to the stadium of dreams,to support a real club.
Just hope that if they play as well as they can do, that all the scouts, don't want to take them away from us.

Some [****!!****] at work asked me what I was doing this weekend and as soon I mentioned 'FA Trophy' he started looking bored and mystified and wanted to discuss the Champions League Final.

I backed out, claiming I only knew about "real football I could actually attend".

I am unbelievably excited about this, like jeff, watching the you tube video sends a shiver. The thought of us playing at Wembley in 48 hours, I still can't belive it. I am so hyped up already, I don't normally drink before a game, but I think I am going to have to to calm my nerves/excitement a bit.

I still watch the crowd reaction at the Aldershot game once or twice a week, just so I can sit there grinning or choked.

I get a real buzz imagining how the team will feel when they run onto the pitch, hearing the noise from over 20,000 people supporting them (plus 11000-odd others).

I wish I was young again. And fit. And knew how to play football. And... you get what I mean.

Don't worry you are not alone. I'm going to get emotional like I did at Aldershot. Thinking of stepping into that stadium and 25,000 fans cheering our team as they come out on to the field; it brings a lump to your throat. Even watching the YouTube videos brings a lump to me.

If we score at Wembley, the "Bossy Scream" at Aldershot will be 25 times louder and effective than at Aldershot.

I'm so nervous, Friday's going to be slow, until we get to the club bar.

I've just written this and posted it on the MyFC forum - thought I'd put it on here too xx

Wembley Time

It's almost time for Wembley

We've counted down the days,

We've got our shirts and tickets,

We've prayed for winning ways.

Our friends from other countries

Are winging through the sky,

They're on a great adventure,

Adrenaline is high.

The boys in red, our players,

Are feeling tense but proud -

They know that they are holding

The hearts of half the crowd.

The Gulls from deepest Devon

Are wondering what to do -

We have a secret weapon,

They haven't got a clue.

So what's this special something,

That makes our stream a flood?

It's Fleet fans past and present -

Old timers with new blood.

So let's all join together

With heads and spirits up -

The Fleet will win at Wembley

And Paul will lift the Cup!!!
