According to the Thanet Times it is Cookie. Listed at the end of April according to the paper.

It as been listed because of it's importance to Margate?.

Would it really be missed if the red brick !!!!!! was to catch fire?.

It was a great building in its day, but what purpose would the structure serve in the future?. According to the council they say it could be used as a conference centre, isn't that the 3rd one suggested by them for the Town. Begs the question, how many conference centres does a Town need?. Isn't it better to demolish along with the rest of the seafront(stand the pain for 3/4 years) and redevelop (including the new Turner building) into a state of the art sea front.

I was just being a tad cynical BB. Wouldn't particularly miss it if it was gone. Agree the whole of the Arcade area needs doing away with (in my opinion only), and the whole seafront area doing up. But the one that really needs to be got rid of is the diaboloic mess that is the multi-storey car park behind the tower block and its surrounds.

Why dont they put the Turner centre in the Dreamland site, instead of that ugly, out of place thing they want,

Because at the time we had a cinema there.

 

Plus why waste perfectly good empty sites when you can build fresh and waste even more money on artitect fees solicitors fees officials bank handers etc etc
