Appeal from the P.A.S.E Boys

Recommended Posts

This season has been a This season has been a great year for Ebbsfleet United Football Club, with the first team having success in both the FA Trophy and Kent Senior Cup by reaching the finals this year, and sustaining a good position in the league.

The youth also, have made Ebbsfleet proud. The side which plays its matches on a Wednesday afternoon won the Football Conference Youth Central (SE) League this year by tipping both Welling United, and Wycombe Wanderers to the title. Also, the side had a great FA Youth Cup run, which unfortunately ended in the First Round proper against League One outfit Northampton Town FC.

With a majority of first year players making up the squad on a Wednesday which is an under 19 league, to have won the league and only losing one game all season is a great achievement. The football itself has been tremendous and I have loved watching the lads playing this season.

Winning the league has put us into a Championship Play-Off Tournament, where all the winners of the conference youth leagues will play to see who wins the overall PASE League. With there being two central leagues this season, it meant that there would be a quarter final tie between the Central (SE) winners and the Central winners. The team had a tough encounter with Brightlingsea, who we had played earlier on in the season coming out on top by winning 3-0 in the League Cup. We ended up winning the quarter final match 5-3 away from home, which made the result so much sweeter. That then set up a tie between Conference Midland winners Barnet FC.

The match against Barnet was physically demanding, both sides played an excellent game, where no one could have picked a winner. With Ebbsfleet dominating the first half, Barnet had to step up their game in the second half which they effectively did, by pushing Ebbsfleet onto the back foot forcing an equaliser late on. Extra Time was needed to finish the game, with both teams giving there absolute all in the match, the fleet had more desire and determination to win and Chris Henry tied up the match in the last few minutes in the second half of extra time sending Ebbsfleet into the final against Thatcham Town who beat FC United of Manchester 2-1 earlier on in the day. The match will be played at Stonebridge Road on Wednesday 7th May 2008, kick-off at 7.45pm. The team would love to have that extra incentive going into the match having you fans as the twelve man, so please come down on Wednesday to give your support to the boys, it will be greatly appreciated by everyone. It will give you fans a chance to see possible future first team players in the youth team set-up.

Players View

I think this season has been a great one for all the years of Ebbsfleet United FC. Both the senior side and Youth team have worked extremely hard in training to get where they are come the end of the season, our character and willingness to come back into games this season has been great and the work rate has been outstanding from all the players, I

It was free last Wednesday, but that was ( probably ?) because it was afternoon and only sad old bast*rds can attend in the afternoon !!

As it's the Final and a few more are expected maybe they will charge a nonimal entrance fee....?

Is the blo*dy bar going to be open ?

Cheers,
