The great escape begins once again

I see on the TK site that Edgware Town have resigned from Ryman Division 1 North due to them being unable to find a ground on which to play next season. They will remain properly consitituted as a club and a member of the Middlesex FA so that they will be able to continue playing when their present problems have been resolved.

 

So it's probably another season of misery for the Foxes and their fellow perennial strugglers for 2008/9 by the look of it.

 

And the ESL once again has to rely on miracles from our Chairman to keep the numbers of member clubs up at a competitive level for next season.

with ilford already looking like they had their repreive will wivenhoe also get one now!!!

teams can constantly finish bottom of that league knowing that there is good chance they WONT go down. joke.

 

ilford and wivenhoe should both be relegated. the additional places should be a reward to step 5 clubs.

 

there are 15 step 5 leagues and 12 steo 4 places. so surely the FA should use the additionals to reward some step 5 teams.

Morally I couldn't agree more Smallsy but on a one for one basis. Clubs shouldn't be allowed to continually escape relegation on a non footballing basis.

I agree, so its Concord & Enfield to be promoted then, replacing Ilford & Wivenhoe.

I suspect that Wivenhoe will be going down anyhow being replaced by Concord.

It's then a question of whether Ilford should go down or stay up and if the former then Enfield should go up in their place.

It's all to do with moral fairness not having a down on Ilford or any other club involved in a similar situation.

There's no way the FA will promote two clubs from the ESL. They'd much rather reprieve.
