Because we are a professional side and they are not. They will be so much more tired than our team ever would be in that situation. Not to say that it shouldn't happen but I think it definitely gives us an advantage.

Either way, you have to feel a little sorry for Cray - if they win on Thursday night, they then are scheduled to play the Ryman League Div 1 South playoff final on Saturday. Not very satisfactory for what would be an important game for them.

KCFA have decided to call this Saturday's match off whatever the outcome of the Cray game and reschedule in pre-season. Am just about to update website to that effect.

Errr.....a sensible decision as two Kent teams have more to play for than being forced to play a KFA Final on Saturday.

 

A pre season curtain raiser is just the ticket. It may even be sunny !

Just for selfish reasons, this sounds good to me - I may even be able to make it down from the wilds of Norfolk for a pre-season game (especially if its on a Saturday).

The only problem that I can see occuring is that if it is played as a pre-2008/09 season match, that a number of fans who arrange holidays and will be away so that they do not clash with the start of the football season, may miss out being able to attend. This is becoming particularly more difficult for supporters with school age children as the Conference season seems to start very early indeed leaving very little time to fit in a holiday at all. Even so I expect it will still be played with an evening kick-off rather than my preference for a Saturday afternoon.

I have booked a holiday also so will not be able to partake in the things that I usually do as I won't be here. I will nowhere near the Cottage, not that there will be a Cottage, but I wouldn't know, as I won't be here !

 

Play it on a cold Tuesday night in February....that'll get the crowds rolling in !
